any suggestions for a cheap new monitor at least 17 inch and with dvi and possibly component input

I've been told that replacing the backlight wouldn't be worth it but if thats a fallacy, I'd like to know

a friend of mine had her backlight die as well. we ended up getting her a samsung 17" from Bestbuy for 350 after taxes but it has 80 in rebates. I'm pretty sure it had dvi

if both backlights died (there is one on the top and bottom), its probably the power supply that went. i dont know of how you would get a replacement 123123123ghz 123e-9 volt power supply for those tubes. i am intrested in the LCD for the controller though, if you need some cash to front for a new screen.

^^I'm getting nothing at all on the screen, can't even bring up the monitor's menu and I'm getting a signal on my crt so I'm almost certain its not the signal

the power light does show as on

Model is the Envision 7500 and I'm while I'm not opposed to selling it off, I'm also in no hurry I'm working off a crt and just wan't to make sure I explore all my options

get the 730b samsung monitor. It is usually about $249 on sale at best buy after rebates. Or if you want to upgrade you can get the 19" (930b) for $349 sometimes. Just keep checking the sales add. and remember you have a 14 day price gaurentee so if u buy it now, keep checking the prices for 2 weeks.

if you really want to know if its just the backlight you can bring it by and ill look at it. ive seen it a bunch and have a 30,000 lumen street lamp to check for sure.
