Indeed Kinston. I've never been but people are pulling my leg to turn in some good times with a heavily modified C5 vette, and this time I'm caving in. This will be the "before" (different heads/cam another test then possibly supercharger-->another test).

1) its fun to do once in a while
2) i don't drive for a car magazine, therefore i don't know what MY car can do
3) i'd like to know first hand what an sti runs from personal experience

Anybody's welcome to come to the strip, it's not my personal thing. I don't know where it is, I will find out tomorrow but it is in Kinston. I can post directions tomorrow when I get them. Also, I'm thinking about leaving a bit earlier possibly to avoid traffic (3ish maybe). Mark, if you wanna come chill with us in Gville, that's cool. I'll be meeting some people there and leaving from there @7pm to the strip.

As for the garage meet, I'll be back in town early Friday for an exam, so Friday evening works for a garage meet @cookout or whatever.

if you have never been to kinston watch out. As soon as you cross the line get on the brakes. Its not like fayetteville where you can coast to a stop, kinston has a very short decel distance. I ended up in the grass my first time there cause i was use to fayetteville.

the good thing about kinston is you dont have to drive through the water box to get on the track unlike fayetteville. you have to back into it. Fayetteville you either drive through it and get your tires wet, or drive around and get them dirty.

Just got back...

I did one better, I took a video, though it's just a teaser. I did what I was sent to do, laid down 4 consistent runs (w/in 1/10th of each other), the faster two being w/in a tenth of the car's fastest recorded time to date.
