Went to the game tonight and then Damon's after and he was there with a Canada Scout. Do any of you think he will be on the Team Canada Olympic Team??

It's possible if he keeps up the good play. But there are so many great hockey players from Canada. They had like 87 or so people on their prospective team list. So, it's possible, but I think Team Canada will be made up of more veteran players. However, I would love it if Staal made the Olympic team!

^^ I'm a Knicks fan. I haven't been given a reason since '99 to think that I should abandon hockey for that crap. Maybe if fucking Jim Dolan had a heart attack but I don't see that happening...

If you're gonna stereotype in one direction, then I'll go the other.

People who don't like hockey are ignorant rednecks.

i saw two scouts in the scouting box up top. Each night, Staal makes it harder and harder for Gretzky & Co. to cut him

The scout had Corona and Staal had a Coke. Yes I was watching. He is only 20, right?

He see's the ice SO well and he is a horse with good hands... pretty nasty combination. This is looking to be his coming out season.

It is a good thing for the Canes that this is an option. There are a handful of players that are using the 1st half of the season as an open audition for national teams. I know Erik Cole is on the USA's list and Staal and Cam Ward are on Canadas.

I'm sure Cam Ward is a long shot and a few years away but Staal may make it.

If Staal stays in the top five in the league in scoring, Gretzky will be hard pressed not to take him.

Similarly, Cole and Cullen are doing so well, they've got to be high up on Laviolette's list.

^I believe it should be. My folks were watching the game on tv and they said that Staal was the last to touch that first goal credited to Stillman. It was hard to tell in the arena - we were just happy to see the puck in net

Chuck Kaiton said that they misannounced the First goal, it should have gone to Staal

Canadians, and therefore Eric Staal, are better people than we are.

Also, I suck at hockey.

For at least one day, Eric Staal will have sole possession of the NHL scoring lead.

Well, once all his brothers are in the show, you'll have to use their real names.
