scrager, you still around? I need a paint job... (I don't think he's around anymore)

If not, anyone know of a good place to paint this and possibly install it too? I don't want to mess up my trunk by drilling a bunch of holes, since I'm not a profeshionawl:

It's going on this:

Should turn out somewhat like this:

Not looking to spend too much (i.e. no more than $100 for paint and install... but I don't know the going rate for this kind of stuff)

Yes, I know...

... but atleast I'm not a hypocrite

No, no STi badges... that would be too much... I like rice... but I don't care much for name brand... rice is rice to me

Hate to tell you, slick, but $100 hardly covers the material.

I can paint it for you, but I don't guarantee a 100% match on the paint, even if I use my expensive line (about 99.5% match guarantee).

Now, $250 and we may talk. Go take it to Maaco or Peach or some other shitball place. They'll paint it for cheap.

Umm... I heard their paint jobs suck... ... anyone else got references? Get me in on a deal

I'll be willing to go a little higher... but not $250. That's about how much that "stir fried teriyaki wing" cost me.

its a cute looking spoiler.

why is sanding primming and spray painting not a DIY job?

you can rent a big sprayer if you need to. buy the paint online.

Why did you buy a spoiler without finding out how much painting it would cost?

haha, less than $250 for a paint job and labor? you got to be insane! I'd take that $250. But then again, when it comes to my car i don't go the cheap route. I want that shit to look good.

Well, to get back on track from one of esgargs usual sidetracks, there's a shop in Durham that I've used a few times for body work/paint. It's called:

Classic Paint & Auto Body
1951 Cheek Rd
Durham, NC 27704-5113
(919) 683-9680

Really cheap, does pretty good work. The guy is a really small shop, kinda in a rough part of town. He's rough around the edges but has always done good work for me. Fixed a Toyota Camry for $800 when every other shop I called/visted wanted to charge me $2000-$2500. Also fixed a Ford F-150 for me. Neither one you could ever tell had been in a wreck.

If you call/visit, he'll most likely ask you for the paint code from the VIN tag under the hood or in the door jam. If you've got that he can match the paint and do it no problem for you (I'm guessing).

Worth a call. He'll probably ask you how you heard about it, just tell him a reference from a guy who's gotten work done by him before.

I would (not that I would put a spoiler on a car that didn't have one) just get a real STi spoiler that matches in color, used from a dismantler or junk yard, and sell this one.

try jeffries down on lake wheeler, long story short, i had to replace a bumper on a friends car with one from a junkyard, and they painted it for me for $50, of course it was a black car, though, so they probably already had some of that color sitting around

^ you can, you just need wood, stickers, and crome hubcabs (if you have steelies) from walmart. Added stuff would be to add a 4" soup can as your muffler.

i don't want to color the exhaust of course - but yeah it looks close to a stock maxima - i included the audio clips for sound - is the sound too boisterous

^^it does sound a bit loud for a "sleeper" look thing... I would just get dual fartcans (since those are so loud anyways), but then I actually prefer the fartcan/single tip look (i.e. 350z exhausts).

and it looks like 2.25" piping? do they not make anything with 2.5" at least?

i refuse to do a fart can - those are fucking lame - i'm not going for sound - i'm going for function but want it to sound nice also - when i hear a fart can i laugh that someone would even waste the time to install one

cattman makes that particular one http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.php?p=4111650&postcount=9
