I'm always curious to see why people are fans of a certain team, I usually just root for the local team

NFL- Redskins (grew up in DC) and Chargers (live in San Diego)
NCAA- NC State (went to state for 2 years) and Arizona (both my parents went to UofA)
NBA- Wizards (grew up in DC)
NHL- Caps (grew up in DC)
MLB- don't follow baseball really but I'll root for the Orioles (grew up in DC) and the Padres (live in San Diego)

Well, I was born in New Jersey, so you're gonna see a common theme among my teams.

NFL- J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS...and I've rooted for the Panthers since Charlotte was awarded the team when I was in the sixth grade, which is when we moved to NC from NJ.
NCAA- N.C. State (graduated in December 2004 and trying to come back for grad school) and Seton Hall (my aunt is the women's basketball coach there)
NBA- eh...went to a bunch of Nets games growing up, but my mom and grandmother loved the Knicks
NHL- eh...went to a bunch of Devils and Rangers games growing up. I'm no more than a casual fan.
MLB- YANKEES...this is where I'm REEEEAAAALLY diehard. My dad took me to all the FanFests growing up, and we went to a ton of games. I have a picture of me as a 2-year-old wearing a Yankee shirt.

NFL - Tampa Bay Bucs: When i was younger its because i liked their logo and always picked em on videogames. Then when I got older it just became more genuine, and loved Keyshawn and Sapp..i wish panthers were in a different division so I could show a little hometown love

NCAA - NCSU for doy reasons. Plus, just like NFL, when i was younger I always liked the color red and the Mr. Wuf logo

NBA - Dallas Mavericks. Just love the run and gun style, though I'm glad we're becoming more defensive minded now, need D in the western conference

NHL - fuck hockey

MLB - Yankees: They always have the best designs in fitted hats and I like to say the yankees because it pisses people off

ncaa-state and duke, state only because i go here, duke because of all my years beforehand
NFL- panthers, because i didnt watch much football till they got here in 1995, and in 1996 they were the shit
nba-used to be the hornets, they left, now its the bobcats
nhl-hurricanes because of it being here and i actually learned some hockey rules back in the '02 run and made it to a couple games

NCAA- NCSU and Tennessee (Strong family ties)
NCAA Basketball- Arizona (Lute Olsen), just always liked them
NBA- Bobcats and Sonics
NHL- Hurricanes
MLB- Cardinals (Ozzie Smith got me hooked, plus family has always been Cardinals fans, Max Lanier is from my hometown so that helped, he played for them in the 1960s and won a ring.)

NFL - Patriots (grew up just outside Boston)
NCAA - NC State (obvious) / Boston College (mom taught there and is an alumnus)
NHL - Bruins (grew up just outside Boston)
MLB - I don't care much for baseball but I keep an eye on the Red Sox (grew up just outside Boston)
NBA - Don't care much for NBA either, but Celtics for same reason as above.

NFL - Panthers (hometown team) 49ers (just grew up liking them even thought blow now)
NCAA FB - Duke (grew up in Durham) State (because the myriad of blunders is amusing)
NCAA BB - Duke (grew up in Durham been to well over 100 games) State (free student tickets of course)
MLB - Braves (started going to games in the late 80's with dad)
NHL - Canes but i could really care less

NBA - Dont have a favorite team just keep up with former Duke players.

our lists are very similar
NFL - Redskins (grew up DC), Chargers (born and early childhood in San Diego), and Panters (college roommate used to take me to a lot of their games)
NCAA - NC State (alumnus) and Oregon (cousin goes there... I've been there a lot)
NBA - Wizards (grew up in DC)
NHL - Capitals (grew up in DC) and Canes(been to a bunch of their games)
MLB - Orioles (grew up in DC), Padres (born and early childhood in San Diego... my first baseball game was the world series!) and Nationals (live in DC, parents own season tickets)

NBA - Lakers. California again. They always played on the Prime Time channel
NHL - Kings/Rangers. Gretsky
MLB - Braves. First team I watched on tv when they would play on TBS.

NCAA: NCSU

NBA: Enjoy watching, don't have a favorite though. Whoever I have money on.

MLB: CHICAGO CUBS!!! My parents are from Chicago and I've been to Wrigley 7 or 8 times. I like Cleveland too cause I always watched their minor league team in Kinston.

NFL: Eagles, went to a game when I was 6 and they have been my fav since then. I pull for the Panthers too.

NHL: Hockey sucks.

NFL - Eagles (parents are from Philly, grandfather was a bookie in Philly so I had connections for autographed stuff as a kid)... Panthers (until playoff time)
NCAA - NC State... ND (Grandfather was given a scholarship off to play as a LB for ND until they found out he was blind in one eye).
NBA - Used to be whatever team Gugs was playing for. But lets go with Denver now.
NHL - Canes I guess.
MLB - Red Sox (i'm hardly a hardcore fan, but I loved Fenway).

NFL: Panthers - I lived inthe area and they've been my team since they were formed. I'll root for the Ravens, but not on the same level as the Panthers
NCAA: NCSU - alumni. FSU- dad went there and I grew up a fan. I'll cheer for them as long as they aren't playing us.
NBA: Despite being a huge basketball fan, I can't really get into the NBA. If I had to pick one, it would probably be the Timberwolves since I used to live there and Garnett is from the same area I'm from....but i certainly dont care enough to keep up with them.
NHL: Canes - Living in raleigh for 5 years made me a fan.
MLB: Orioles - I wasn't really into baseball until I moved to Baltimore and I could walk to games. now im a big fan.

NFL-Panthers (I didn't start getting into football until 1996 - perfect timing)

NCAA- Charlotte 49ers Basketball! (I go to school there now) NCSU Football (Will always pull for them win or lose - even if Charlotte gets a team)

NBA- no longer a fan enough to pull for anyone

NHL- Tampa Bay Lightning (Coach John Tortorella is a family friend - go Winston-Salem teams! heh..)

NFL - dolphins (my folks are from miami, my bros and i were raised dolphin fans, dan marino is god), chargers (i live in san diego now and have season tickets)

MLB - reds (my mom was inexplicably a reds fan so i pulled for them), padres (i go to a bunch of games so i cheer for the home team) -- i like watching baseball, but i'm not a diehard fan of a particular team

NCAA - wolfpack (of course), since i've moved to cali i also tend to pull for schools that my friends who i watch games with went to (as long as there's no conflict with ncsu) so casual fan of notre dame, uva, and the gamecocks

NBA - not a fan, i hate the lakers, will probably keep an eye out for jules in denver

NHL - don't watch hockey (although i admittedly was a bandwagon hurricanes fan in '02, but even after i watched all those games i still don't understand all the rules)

NFL: Steelers...best friend is a steelers fan and i'd always join her to watch the games. just came to me naturally. Eagles...I love McNabb and TO, but I love McNabb more.
NCAA: NCSU...the obvious, but it wasn't until Marcus Melvin stepped on the court his sophmore year that I fell in love with NCSU athletics. Duke...dad graduted from there so I grew up watching Duke. Coach K is also the man.
NBA: I don't really have a team...
NHL: Toronto Maple Leafs, grew up watching what little hockey I did b/c my dad was born in Toronto and that's what he grew up watching. I like the Hurricanes as well.
MLB: Braves...my aunt lives in Atlanta and we'd go to a lot of games when I'd go visit. I also had the biggest crush on John Smoltz when he first started out...and I think I still kinda do

NCAA - NC State (durr)

MLB - Chicago Cubs (most of my "youth" years were spent in a small town in the middle of Illinois. THe Cubs just went along with that All-American midwest feel. Plus they were on TV a lot )

NFL - No one really, maybe the Panthers for the local thing but don't really care about a specific team. I have a soft spot for the Bears but I just can't seem to really care for one particular team.

NBA - Fuck 'em. Actually, kinda like the NFL (like to watch but no one I really follow, though definite teams I like/dislike)

NHL - Hurricanes (I was always a Blackhawks fan but the Hurricanes grabbed me when they arrive. It did take awhile for me to pull for the Hurricanes over the Blackhawks... them starting to suck really helped)

NFL-Arizona Cardinals always liked them because they are underdogs every game, even against the 49ers as well as it dates back to the Plummer days and Im a fan of Plummer.
NCAA-State and it always will be because hell, its state.

NFL: The New York Football Giants, and they come before anything in life (dads family is from NY, i have watched the games since I can remember)

NHL: Detroit Red Wings (i was born in Monroe Michigan, 20 minutes south of Detroit, and I was first person in my family that I know about to follow hockey seriously [NHLPA Hockey '93 for Sega Genesis played a large role in this, and they were always my team in that as well) ... my interest in hockey has waned with the lockouts

NBA: none...but i am very interested in the Bobcats now

NCAA: none really, first allegiance would be unc (mom worked there for 20 years so its who we pulled for) .... but i pull for a little recruiting success with your football team ... I love great prospects in any sport

MLB: Tigers because they sucked for so long (see also birthplace)...next would be the Yankees because it pisses people off (faggots), and because they do whatever they feel they have to do to win (i.e. they dont play moneyball) ... theyre like the real-life version of me playing video games

NFL - Panthers. I am a diehard Panther fan and have been since the Frank Reich era. My blood is panther blue.

MLB - Braves. I've lived in NC all my life and i grew up watching the braves. Fell in love with them because if Dale Murphy, he was the greates.

NBA - geez i don't even know who i would cheer for, i haven't enjoyed NBA since malone/stockton, jordan/pippen eras.

NHL - Canes because of Raleigh. Toronto Maple Leafs b/c Doug Gilmore and Wendell Clark
