A.
I conviced my friends that were going that we would want to stay downtown near all the nightlife. We're about a block away from the nearest subway stop, and should be able to take that to BC for the game. I figure the money we'll save avoiding cab rides will pay for the difference in the hotel rates.10/28/2005 12:01:29 AM |

Good idea. If you can, or your friends can, buy a weekly combo or train pass. Much cheaper than buying a "visitor" pass. 10/28/2005 12:26:23 AM |

my house in North Brookfield, Mass and dont stay in boston cuz its wicked expensive and Boston College isnt actually in Boston, its in Chestnut Hill so there are cheaper places closer to the school 10/28/2005 9:31:10 AM |

^^yeah, i haven't decided if I want to do that, or just pay individual fares. Right now my only "planned" travel is 4 trips, to/from the airport... to/from the game... so that's like $5.
but depending on what the other plans are, it might be smart to just get a pass... 10/28/2005 11:01:50 AM |

^^ If you're gonna hit the bars its probably not a bad way to go. HOw long you staying for? Its cold so I wouldnt wanna be walking around all over the place. 10/28/2005 11:39:42 AM |

Thurs. night until Sunday.
The hotel is located within a couple blocks of a number of bars. so we might get away with some pretty short walks, but I'll have to talk it over with some of the other folks going. we have some friends living in boston, so we may need the flexibility to go a number of places.
thanks for the tip though. 10/28/2005 11:44:07 AM |

The subway gets off at B.C. right? I hope that's actually close to the stadium ... anyone know? 10/28/2005 3:45:41 PM |

it appears like it is on the other side of the campus, so it might be a bit of a walk. 10/28/2005 3:50:51 PM |

^^ The walk from the T to the stadium is less than from the Gym to the Library at NCSU. 10/28/2005 4:30:31 PM |

any suggestions for hotels near to a t stop but that are lower priced than the downtown hotels? optimally $125/night or $200 for a suite. 10/29/2005 12:29:22 AM |

I'm in Boston now.
Bring your heavy coats.
The T sucks ass too. Only fucking mass transit system that still relies on coins to board. 10/30/2005 8:13:27 PM |

The T has always been VERY efficient to me. I guess the Green line kinda sucks to get out to Newton/Chestnut Hill b/c the line splits 3 times but overall it's not bad. Especially if you stay outside the city and go in for work or school.. The coins suck but it was never a problem when it was the norm everywhere... 10/30/2005 8:16:54 PM |
