Background Info: I have a Mac G4 with 2 harddrives. One I barely use, except to put stuff i don't use often in.

How should i prepare that hard drive to put in an enclosure?
If I take the harddrive out of my computer is it going to effect my computer at all?
I'm not sure if I have any thing linked to the hard drive. ex. Photoshop using it as virtual ram.
Will i need to partition it at all before i put it in an enclosure?
Any specific enclosures people reccomend?

thanks.

P.S. the reason i'm taking the hard drive out is to use it as a back up drive. Now is there even any reason to do this because my second drive is protected if my computer crashes, or is it not?

yank drive out.

adjust jumpers.

shove drive into enclosure

just make sure OSX supports the enclosure first.
