Special blog from Baghdad. Al Moharer

November 1, 2005

Informed sources indicated today that a US patrol has attacked the Mercy Orphans Home in Baghdad and proceeded to kidnap eight Iraqi orphan girls under the pretext of detaining informations about weapons and accusing the charitable Institution of sheltering armed men from Fallujah.

The sources explained that after raiding the Orphans home, the US patrol undertook minute search of every corner of the charitable institution, rooms, corridors, and dormitories of the Mercy little Orphan girls Home.

The sources went on saying that the US invading army patrol attacked the dormitory rooms where lived 18 minors girls and chose and detained eight in amongst them.

According to the sources, when the Iraqi Orphan girls caretaker protested the attack and the kidnapping, telling the US soldiers that this was a totally illegal move, he was insulted by the US attackers chief who threatened the man and warned him from divulging any news or any information about the raid..of the Orphan girls home.. saying that his US Patrol will abandon the little girls into the streets so that they will decide themselves their own fate.

The same sources added that later on the US beastly invaders took hostages and led the eight orphan girls and pushed them into their humvee. The girls are : Ahlam Abdallah, Zaynab Radhi, Wajdane Kadhim, Farah Ahmad, Fatima Hussein, Hannane : who is a voiceless girl, Zaman Jabbar, and Ala'a Mohamed.

Quoting the Charitable Institution caretaker, the sources said, that up to this instant there were no news of the whereabouts of six of the kidnapped girls after the US kidnappers threw two of them in the street of Salihiya..

Official sources quoting the two abandoned girls, Wajdane Kadhim (18 years) and Ala'a Mohamed (24 years old) asserted that the US liberators hit the girls and treated them in a beastly way for refusing to answer their beastly sexual desires that is why they were abandoned in the middle of no where.

Why won't the "regular news" report this?

Oh right, the total lack of credibility.

Although the title was catchy (I don't know why you left it out):

US Soldiers kidnapping girls from orphanages to satisfy their beastly sexual desires

TEXT AND SHOT LIST:

1-Shots of the orphanage, children, officials, details

An orphanage in Baghdad's ar-Reshad district claimed eight girls aged 15 to 22 were kidnapped last week by US soldiers, with six still missing.

2-Interview with orphanage director (in Arabic)

The ar-Rahma orphanage director Suad Mahdi al-Hafaji said, "We asked US soldiers about the whereabouts of the girls, but they said they did not know. We have not heard from the six girls for a week."

3-Girls claiming being kidnapped

4-Interview with the girls (in Arabic)

One of the girls who says she was kidnapped, Vijdan Kazem, said, "They forced us out of the orphanage into Humvee vehicles. We asked, 'Where are you taking us?' but they hit us. They hit me on the neck with the butt of a gun. I started screaming and then they threw me from the vehicle in an area I did not know, but I managed to find my way back to the orphanage. They also told us on the road that we should say we had been kept in the orphanage against our will if asked by police."

Falah, the other girl who says she was kidnapped but managed to return, said she was released in the Alawi al-Hilla district, and soldiers gave her 2,000 dinars for a taxi back to the orphanage. She said they had asked Iraqi officials about their friends but had not received an answer.

They said the names of the girls kidnapped were Zaman Jabbar, Dumu Maan, Zainab Hamood, Fatima Askoori and Ahlam Abdullah, who is mute.

lets wait and see, on the news, the word is out now, so journalists will get to work... im not sure how it will be reported, perhaps another coverup.

CAPTURED, YOUNG FEMALE INSURGENTS ARRESTED, BHAGDAD. US forces storm a orphanage after looking for suspected .... sources beleve they were assisting in the insurgency. blah blah blah..

a cover-up won't happen through liberal channels, i'm fairly certain of that.

you said this stuff came out 3 days ago? it'd be all over the headlines everywhere by now. they do "news", not "what happened last week"

the place where the article mentions is a well known place 'Mercy Orphans Home in Baghdad' , and many info is on it on the net... i would imagine , lets say 48 hours or so, see whats on the news.

keeping in mind, i would imagine as robert fisk writes that us forces have control of the media in iraq, so......... that might severely limit the flow of information, but if the word has got out to us on this side of the world i have no doubt that humanitarian orgs , as well as independent journalists would be racing to get the story known. let see.

who cares? the orphanage was probably a bomb factory, or training future terrorists or something.

How is that any different than "US Soldiers kidnapping girls from ophanages"? Both are using buzz words to invoke emotion. Kidnapping vs Captured and insurgents. Any news source with integrity, only knowing what we know now, would say something like "US Soldiers detained several girls from an ophanage for reasons unknown at this time. Two of the girls are claiming to have been mistreated/abused by the soldiers. The other six girls are still being detained. More to come when we know what the fuck we're talking about and aren't using blogs as our only source"

And it's completely impossible that anyone would lie about being mistreated by soldiers (not that i'm saying this is what's going on), but if you're going to assume the worse of the soldiers you should do the same of these girls. And the whole thing that the soldiers kidnapped the girls in order to molest them. That's no better than a cover up saying that the girls were insurgents, if in fact they're not.

^ duro. well said, good points.

lets hope more on this comes out this week... even with that said, as we all know the us forces marines, infantry, mercenaries, whatever you want to call them, have a notorious reputation for abuses etc. and things of this nature, basically u have a place of lawlessness where troops are free to roam around and do whatever they please whether under order or not.
