I almost agree with that. Well, at least as far a talent. That's never been the problem this year. It's everything else. I'm definately not saying that our talent is going to perform like past teams, they won't. But, if somehow they did put everything together, they would be almost as good.

our talent is better than those teams overall. that's why it sucks so much and why everyone is pissed with chuck. b/c we are such great underachievers.

We have a decent QB this year and we are dangerous as in top 10 talent. But I see us actually getting worse next year losing a good group of seniors and prolly our best player in Mario going pro.

How do we really know we have the talent. Maybe they just hyped everyone up to think we had great talent this year.

^I had us down for 5-6 before the seaeson started specifically because of us having the same QB as last year. Didn't see anything noteworthy from him last year (except a game where he threw 5 INTs IIRC) and I didn't see anything from him this year.

I know they have the tallent because of the plays I've seen them make. They just don't make them enough, and there's too much other crap going on that's messing our games up, like penalties, turnovers, etc.

^But isn't that the nature of college FB? Every once in a while the worst team will bust out a big play. And to me penalties, turnovers, etc. shows a lack of talent.

Not arguing, just saying.

That's what makes a good team, definately. I'm just saying that the individual players have as much tallent, as a whole, as previous years. As a team, we definately aren't as good. I don't think a team having a poor season neccessarily shows a lack of skill of an individual player(s). It could be true that a player's skills haven't been honed right, or developed like they should, or whatever. I think that's more of what's going on.

Look at Notre Dame they have almost the exact team as last year, but an awesome coach now and i think they're makin out alright....talent definetly doesn't mean crap unless it develops

Agreed. The only thing it's good for is for a player to be drafted on potential, rather than stats, hoping that a new NFL coach will be able to do more with them.

I don't see where penalties show a lack of talent, to me it's more of a lack of focus. Who knows, maybe they get by with that crap in practice, maybe we line up offsides in practice, false start and everything else and the coaches are stopping it. But, the penalties have gotten better the last two/three games

Ok, really people quit about this look at Notre Dame, BS. Ty did win in his first season with his predecessors losing team as well. Wait a couple of years before you declare Weis a savior.

From Espn on firing Ty -
Quote :
"In his first season, Willingham had many fans recalling Notre Dame's glory days, taking over a losing squad and turning things around immediately. The Irish won eight straight games to start the season before finishing 10-3 and going to the Gator Bowl."

I've said it before, I'll say it once more:

we, nor any other football team, can be very effective without a good o-line and qb. Granted, an excellent one or the other will work, we have a shitty excuse for both. No matter how great the talent on the rest of the team, if your offense can't stay on the field, you are going to lose a lot of games.

^^Maybe ND will get worse because Weis isnt a good coach but as of right now they're doing something we can't...win big games as well as the ones they should.

Personally I think Weis is ten times the coah Ty will ever be.
