Do you guys actually have access to a carfax account? I wouldn't mind the info on a VIN # for a car I'm considering... Thanks to anyone that could help. Ahmet 11/8/2005 5:15:34 PM |

I called the owner to verify the fire thing, and he said the car hasn't been in any fire. He said the VIN might be wrong so he gave me this one. It should be still a 98 Camry. Please check for me.

nope, that's an invalid vin. the other one you posted is for a 98 camry. that's what carfax is for, to dig up info owners won't reveal.

Moral of the story: either put up the $ for a carfax report yourself, or require the seller too. Dont ask us. 11/8/2005 11:14:24 PM |

Helpful hint: there are people who show up from time to time who have one of the 1-month unlimited carfax deals, and are nice enough to share them. However, if you find one of those people, they will usually PM you the full text results, not post a two-line description in the thread. 11/9/2005 4:04:44 PM |

helpful hint: quit being a cheap ass and buy a report or request the seller to provide one if they want to make a sale. carfax is a joke anyway. 11/9/2005 4:23:45 PM |
