trying to install something and auto run comes on, i choose "install" and i get the following:

C:\Windows\System32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-dos or windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate this application.

Sounds like your software might be too old.

yeah, what program is it? you can follow the instructions from that link incognegro gave you, which sounds like a pain in the ass (for someone not used to doing crap at the command prompt)... but you could also probably find a newer software that would meet your needs and not be a bitch to use.

yeah its old games.

when im doing this, where it says %SYSTEMROOT% am I supposed to type that or is this something I should fill with my specific computer info?

am i supposed to put WINDOWS instead, b/c later in the info it tells me to put these new files in the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, which doesn't seem to exist.

I think so, just put windows where it says system root. also, you could try this program:

it's a dos emulator, version of it works for xp.
