Yes no doubt this effectively puts an end to any talk of Amato's future here, good or bad.

We probably won't go to a bowl... but you won't hear me calling for his head.

I'm dissapointed at our QB situation, but the rest of our team is stacked. We should have a better-developed QB... and that's his fault. I'm not sugar coating it... but the fact of the matter is when your QB is like 3-30 with like 40 yards in two games and he's 2-0... you've done a lot of things right

Stone didn't look bad in the second half, I'll give him that. We need to fix the O-line first and foremost.

I dont really understand while so many people act like Chuck Amato is such a good coach when he has never even won a conference championship. And also next year even if we get a good QB which I doubt we will the defense will lose Manny and Mario which will hurt a lot. So please someone explain to me what is so great about Chuck Amato because I would like to know.

i dont care either way if he stays. i cant believe there were people pulling for him to stay though, we still play like a high school team. thank god for a good defense.

i'll list my name here

i don't think amato is a good coach. i realize he will be here for awhile though, because of his contract and the fact that we somehow managed a crap bowl bid here. but i mean, he really isn't a good coach at all.

did anyone listen to his comments after halftime? "yeah, i know marcus only completed 1 pass in the 1st half, but that's his number. he's a second half man" all cheers and stuff, as if he completely accepts that performance for a half. it's ridiculous.

and i'm extremely happy we won, don't think i was pulling against us or anything. i just don't think amato deserves any credit for the win. mario and marcus hudson pretty much locked up the win all by themselves today. yeah, mario's facemask didn't get called on that INT, but he did it after the ball was thrown. it didn't cause the interception, so it's not like that was the only reason it happened. it was just a bonehead mistake that would have been very costly to us had it been called (thank God it wasn't).

You can't make someone a better player in one game. What's he supposed to do? "Stone sucks... damn he's awful". He's not accepting it, but if it's the best we've got then it's the best we've got.

The big bonus of all of this Bowl stuff is that we get another month of practice. Very very important for our QB's and our future DE's

a 6-5 record with a horrific non conference schedule and a bowl bid on the last game

what does that equal in basketball, an NIT bid/ 1st round NCAA loss?

that happens to Herb and he'll be run out of town at the end of season; I guess I'll just never get it

I'm still a little baffled that Sendek is held to a much higher standard when this is supposedy a football school

just check sendek's acc records of late compared to amatos

1. NCSU isn't a football school - prince you're a UNC fanboy, so it's no suprise you'd be the one to make such an idiotic statement.
2. How many coaches have won an ACC title in the past decade? Should every ACC team that hasn't get fired?
3. We will go to a bowl as we didn't back into one, rather we overcame struggles in the first half.
4. Chuck doesn't deserve a ton of praise, but then again if you're bitching about 5 bowl games in 6 years, you need to get your head checked. Navy, my alma matter, is going to one for the 3rd year in a row - a school record. We didn't even do that when we had Staubach and were national champion contenders.
5. I support this team. I feel horrible for Jay Davis...he came into a shitty situation with Rivers in front of him and never got to develop into the QB he could have been. He showed flashes of brilliance this season, but in the end just couldn't close the deal. I thank him for staying around for so long - that's a hell of a lot of dedication.

next year we might get to see Greco (a Red shirted freshmen this year) on the field
He was:
The ninth-rated dual-threat quarterback nationally by Rivals.com ... No. 60 player in Florida according to Rivals.com ...Scout.com rates him the No. 31 quarterback nationally ... Rated as the No. 53 player in Florida by SuperPrep and No. 76 by Fort Lauderdale's Sun Sentinel

The man has a point there. Bobby Bowden should be the only coach left according to those standards.

I've got in many arguments before over the fact that many of you stated last season that this was indeed a football school, just pointing out some hypocrisy

And Marcus Stone was number the #8 QB.... and Jay Davis was the #18 QB....

oh, and our lowest rated Running Back on the team is also starting... his name is Andre Brown

amato wasn't going anywhere regardless of the outcome of this game and/or bowl situation. people that think he was going to get fired don't know anything about college football and how things work. it would have taken a losing year this year, and a 1 or 2 win season next year to even have serious talks about him being fired.

I don't know.... I think that that is why M. A. was at the game today. If maryland won she was coing back from CA to give the pink slip to Amato.

^Where are we gonna play him? We need some depth at Wide Receiver losing several seniors and he is fast as hell. We could run some badass trick plays with him in at WR.

Have you LOOKED at the guy?

One hit from a college linebacker and he's snapped in half.
