I am looking for some music but am not sure exactly how to describe it, btu I will try.
Something that sounds kindof like Linkin Park "Cure for the Itch" - something that almost sounds like it could be the track for a rap song.
Any bands, etc that are like this? I have been looking this type of music for a while but have had only limited luck.

Disco Biscuits; not that I would compare them to shitty linkin park but they are kind of an electronica-based jamband. Their fans would flame me for referring to them as that, but it could be what you're looking for. They're awesome, regardless.

I don't know that Linkin Park song, but from the rest of what you've said, you might like the album Gandalf's Beat Machine by Eligh. He's a producer and beat-maker for Living Legends crew, and that album is just a bunch of really creative instrumental beats he made, very chill for the most part. 11/8/2005 2:34:17 AM |

Not like gangsta rap.
I used Linkin Park because in some songs they do a really good job of mixing melody and rhythm.11/8/2005 8:34:55 AM |

Lemon Jelly Mr. Scruff, some of his stuff has vocals, but it's usually just hooks Layo And Bushwacka - Deep South has that sound Moonbotica is a bit housey, but it's always got a kickin beat and melody

Thanks Kris!
I want to go in the direction of Classical + Rap almost.
Real instruments + a good beat.

If you're interested in rap and ethnic music at all, you might like groups like Arabic Breakbeats, Kulisch and Vana (Indian), Badmarsh&Shri (Indian), Tabla Beat Science, and Talvin Singh. Most of it's pretty chill.
I also have an album by a group called Ojos De Brujo, which is a fusion of flamenco music with hiphop and electronic elements. 11/13/2005 10:06:23 PM |
