Been a while, but I remember where I used to hang out in college--now that I'm older and stop by Raleigh every now and then, where's the place to go now that one's older (on weekends/nights/etc)?

define older - young professional crowd?

rush lounge / bogart's / white collar crime / hibernian / etc. - but there's still the college kids there too on certain nights

Ri Ra is a mix of mid to late 20s and some college on the weekends...
The Ale Houses draw a good mix, espcially for state games...
Max's Tavern in Cary is good...
Downtown is great, but there are other places people go espcially our age.

Yeah, I need to guarantee myself an enjoyable time next time I go to Raleigh. I'm not driving an hour and a half to tag along with someone who takes 5 hours to figure out what they want to do that night.

Plan, plan, plan!

Bogarts can be pricey. I was DD for a group of 6 there one night. Tab was over $700

I hear ya Maverick, I'd be pissed to if I stood outside for ever trying to figure out where to go.

Here's an idea, if going out with old friends, don't go with 15 people who all have different ideas on what "fun" is...

sorry it sucked for ya.

Yes, the 5 of them pounded down. I did get an appetizer though as part of the bill. It was right after a wedding reception so we were there a good while too.

Havana's is a great place to go chill. Dim light, and music thats not loud. I highly recommend it.

I hate Havana's and Havana's hates me. Everytime I go in there i feel like I need to take off my golf spikes and tip the caddy for a good round.

I like going to White Collar Crime when in town.

i kind of like havana's. But it's more about who you go there to smoke a cigar and have a drink with.

The bartenders have been nothing but nice to me.

I would not consider myself an older person, but def. a young professional. I tend to go to Rush Lounge, Hiberian, April and George, Red Room, Sulivans, and Bogarts...

If you just want to have a bottle of wine or something with your significant other, then I like Enoteca Vin, may be just Vin nowadays, behind Hard Times Cafe.

They have really good food as well.
