Yo folks,

So, does my computer have a conscience? Because, it constantly loses the wireless connection (if it even picks it up in the first place). Doesn't matter whether i'm in my house (private network), public place like NCSU, at a friend's apartment, whatever. Can't seem to figure out what's going on. But, when I go down to the little flashing (or in my case, not flashing) computer icon thinamajobby in the corner, as soon as I get near it the computer starts skipping....so, example:

I'll be playing music, but when the connection dies (and inevitably it will), I'll go to right click - repair, but as I get the mouse physically close to the icon in the corner, the music will start skipping, and the mouse will become choppy, sort of like it knows that I'm going to be messing with the wireless.

How does it know that, why do I keep losing the connection, etc?

Mike

^ I'm starting to realize that. But it worked fine in the past; I never had these problems when two years ago on the same computer. It's just been recently; on either slot that I put it in (excuse the use of words), it does the same damn thing. Anyone?!?

step 1 is to make sure you're using windows built in wireless config and not the software that came with the card.

Infact if you do have this software installed, remove everything but the drivers.

As for the skipping problems, thats really fucking wierd. Almost like a video driver problem. You install new video drivers lately?

I know it's f-ing weird. No new video drivers, only when I go to mess with the wireless icon, too. I'm using the windows config, but I guess I could reinstall everything.

I guess it depends on who makes the card. For me I would rather use ACU so I connect at work.
