I just got a speeding ticket on highway 70 in johnston county and have to appear in Smithfield District Court. I will not be in town during my court date and I was planning on getting a lawyer anyways. Does anyone know a good traffic lawyer in that area that could help me out?

Thanks

he might go to johnston, or refer you to someone down there.

Woodruff, Reece, & Fortner

Mike Reece is a great lawyer, and an NC State Alum.

He's taken care of me in Johnston county a few times.

Chances are he'd charge you a whole lot less than James Crouch would, too.

There is some lady called as "Annette" something. She once got my ticket dismissed and her fees are very reasonable.

I got caught 3 nights ago going 105 in a 55 work zone on us-1 in Cary. Got off with a verbal warning.

not that I'm bragging or anything, but I've probably gotten the most tickets in JC out of anyone here and I'm def. familiar with the lawyers down there as far as getting off (having used at least 3 different ones)

from my experience (of at least 7 tickets in JC), WR&F is the best/fairest priced firm to go to.

Interesting you say that...I don't know Mike Reece personally, but I do know Gordon Woodruff, and he's helped us a good deal, company-wise. I do know Reece's wife Mary; went to high school with her.

I would recommend his firm any day.

Oh...and my last dealings were with Jimmy Lawrence (Daughtry, Woodard, and Lawrence)...I had a ticket in Wilson County for 78 in a 55.

Here on the home front (in Smithfield; where I am from), a friend of mine, Travis Wheeler, has his own practice, and he handled a ticket for us (my wife, actually; 65 in a 45). Travis and I went to high school together, so he's kind of young blood, but I was impressed.

^ If I'm not mistaken, I think his wife works at the firm as well.

I donno. Beats the hell out of me. I was sure I would be thrown in jail. Nice cop though. Better then the one that pulled us for the stop sign thing. I'd figure he'd let us go for that, but i'd get stuck with the 105 thing. just the opposite. World is messed up.

^^You are not mistaken. She does, though I think she's been out on maternity leave.

i don't know that i believe this going 105 in a work zone on us-1...that has got to be one of the dumbest things i've heard recently. going 105 on 540 or some open highway....ok fine, but 105 in a work zone with lane shifts and such shows some serious lack in judgement.

and i think the cop is an idiot for letting you off. why were you going 105 by the way? for fun or in a hurry or by mistake?
