I understand why the Q episodes would make for good drama, and why Q would be a likable character, so I'm not going to argue.

But I can't stand any of the Q episodes. Such bullshit.

i always hated having the partial credits at the beginning of the episode, so you would know if Q was coming later in the episode before it really even started

Most Definitely on "the inner light." But also the one where Data crash lands and loses his memory on a pre-renaissance planet. I think its called, "Thine Own Self"

Quote :
"from "The Chase"
"You're wondering who we are ... why we have done this ... how it has come that I stand before you, the image of a being from so long ago. Life evolved on my planet before all others in this part of the galaxy. We left our world, explored the stars, and found none like ourselves. Our civilization thrived for ages - but what is the life of one race, compared to the vast stretches of cosmic time? We knew that one day we would be gone, and nothing of us would survive - so we left you. Our scientists seeded the primordial oceans of many worlds, where life was in its infancy. The seed codes directed your evolution toward a physical form resembling ours: this body you see before you, which is of course shaped as yours is shaped, for you are the end result. The seed codes also contain this message, which is scattered in fragments on many different worlds. It was our hope that you would have to come together in fellowship and companionship to hear this message - and if you can see and hear me, our hope has been fulfilled. You are a monument, not to our greatness, but to our existence. That was our wish: that you too would know life, and would keep alive our memory. There is something of us in each of you, and so, something of you in each other. Remember us."

All Good Things couldnt have been better as a movie. I think that was possibly the best Star Trek ever.

And isnt it nice to actually end a series with arguably the best episiode?

All Good Things was good, but what didn't make sense to me is that if the anomaly was in the past, growing larger, then wouldn't people of our time (2000) see it, and thus affect Picard's future?

But, the episode where they encounter a space probe, and Picard lives out his life as a different race in 25 minutes was good.

I always liked the one where they find Riker's old ship and use the phase-cloak on the Enterprise. A later episode where LaForge and Ro are presumed killed in a transporter accident was really good too.

What's the one where some weird pipe-looking thing is using the Enterprise to replicate and it takes control of the Holodeck? I remember in the beginning Data is practicing the Tempest in the holodeck and a train comes through.

(and slightly off-topic, best DS9 episode I saw was when Sisko's kid was trading and doing favors around the ship to get Sisko the old baseball card.)

the episode where Data is kidnapped and is forced to choose to kill or not is up there

if only they had actually showed him shooting the guy though

too lazy to make a top ten but that should be on there, inner light and measure of a man too

^ They couldn't show him shooting the guy, because he was transported the instant he shot him (so the guy wasn't shot, but Data did shoot him, kinda weird in a brilliant TNG way).

^there is a reason why nobody cares about that. startrek often took liberties for the sake of creating some very unique shows. each episode is almost its own experiment, with its own version of reality.

the point was to posit the idea that all life was seeded, not neccesarily to make it startrek dogma.

did i make sense?

no shit

my point was that they shouldn't have pussied out of the cold hard reality of that episode and showed the guy getting shot instead of a transport at the perfect time

The Defector - The opening shot is just awesome with the Romulan scout ship being chased and then at the end the two warbirds and Tamolak thinking he is all badass until the Klingon birds of prey decloak all around them.

Darmok - Awesome awesome awesome episode. And their ship was pretty cool too.

Any of the Q episodes - John de Lancie is phenominal.

Conundrum - The best part about this was Ro. First she is super hot and the things she says the Will are priceless. The golden moment of this episode is at the very end when Deanna and Ro are sitting together when Will comes up and the look that Deanna gives him as she says "If you're still confused in the morning, you know where my office is " *scowl*
