can anyone that has taken chem 101 or ma 121 ,online, tell me if they ran into any problems w/ the online structure of the course...i am considering taking them online but i just want to make sure that it will not be any harder online. Basically...can anyone give a good reason not to take these online?

if ch 101 is anything like ch 201... i love ch 201 online.

i took a lower level ma course online too, but im thinking it was 107 or 114 when i was thinking about teaching lower grades math... and that format was awesome.

ma 121 online was the easiest class i've taken here...they offer TA assistance online through AIM at certain times, you IM the TA and they invite you to a chat room and they help you with all the webassigns, this also helps b/c you can get IM names from other ppl in your class that you can work with

you watch videos and use the book and you can take all your notes and old webassigns that you print out to the tests, it's pretty straight forward but you have to be disciplined to keep up with the work

if you miss a webassign you can get an extension but only like once or twice, don't make a habit of it

I have taken MA 114, MA 121, ST311, CH101, GN311, and ENG 332 online... If they offered more of my major classes I would take more online. If you can set a shcedule foryouself and discipline your time then you should take couses online. If you cannot, you will fail quickly. However, usually the material and built in curve accomodates for you teaching yourself and works in your favor either how the class is graded, extensions, or difficulty of the material taught.

I took CH 201 online. I thought it was a good way to present the material. There's alot of webassigns though, but if you do them then you should be able to do well on the tests. Unless you're a chemistry pro, then you'll probably spend lots of time in the tutorial center.

The work is just like a regular on campus section. Webassigns and tests. The good thing (or bad thing?) is that the exams would probably also be on webassign, and probably with at least two submissions to cover the chance of technical errors with the first submission.

The only reason I took it online was because I have always had to teach myself chemistry anyway. Honestly, chem lectures here at state never helped me as much as I could help myself just by readin the book, figuring out the homework, and going to the tutorial.

i am in Ch101 online right now. If you have alot of background with chemistry youll probably be fine. I only had a highschool course and it is a very big challenge for me. Luckily, they have a tutorial center if you need help.

I'm taking CH 201 online right now. The most important thing with it, in my opinion, is that you are self-disciplined, can budget time to dedicate to it, and that you *do not procrastinate*. If you start the work when it is assigned and keep on schedule, you have plenty of time to email back and forth with the professor with questions and visit the tutorial center, etc. If you procrastinate, those sources of help fail. This has been especially important for me in CH 201 because even though I have friends taking in-class sessions of it, they are weeks behind the material covered in my webassigns right now...so the only way to get help is the professor/chem tutorial center.
