This game is truly the best wrestling game that I've ever played. I've already beat season mode twice (Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle). Get it if you like wrestling games.

i really want this. i haven't played a wrestling game since no mercy for n64. i absolutely loved that game. but i was also into watching wrestling back then, so i think that helped. i hope i can get into the new games (with scrubs like john cena, wtf) as much as i could the old ones (the rock, mick foley, goldberg, etc).

Rented it, decided not to wait till after exams.
Good:
Gameplay
Characters - some good ones, a lot of useless ones
Main Event match types
Unlockable Legends - but Rock and SC should be regular guys
Season mode - only 2 modes but both solid(very realistic cut scenes)
Andre in Royal Rumble, haha, enough said.

Bad:
All the useless jobbers
Only 2 finishers per person(want No Mercy style)
Stamina can get annoying
Breaking Tables - the table will be in perfect position and you'll do a move that should go through it and it doesn't.
Reversal system is too easy and the cpu loves to exploit it

Is it like the old smackdown games where you had to just tap one button to do reversals for everything? I couldn't stand that crap...there was no timing involved, so my brother would just mash the reversal button and neither of us could get any offense going. At least in the old N64 games, you had a reversal for grappling, and one for strikes.

If that's the case, that'll be the sole reason why I wouldn't get the game, no matter how good it might be.

^^^more goods: the whole clean/dirty thing is great...you can do certain things, like remove the turnbuckle cover, complain to the referee, and continue to apply submissions when the ref says rope break and they boost your momentum if you play as "dirty." different things boost "clean" players momentum.

the create a wrestler and create an entrance mode are excellent. theres so many things to customize. ive had a blast creating myself, my roommates, and some of the dumbest, funniest looking characters ive ever seen in a game. and the entrances are great, i actually watch em instead of skipping past em all the time.

playing the hell out of it since christmas



the thing i dont like about it is how many damn unlockables there are. i work all the time, i don't have alot of free time to play, especially not enough to unlock all this stuff. plus, i have to have a psp with the game to unlock jake the snake. thats some bullshit.


but overall, the gameplay is phenomenal, and it's pretty much everything i'm looking for in a wrestling game.

it's still reverse happy...I just don't get it. Why do wrestling games have to be SO reverse happy? If you sat down and watched an episode of RAW, and there were the amount of reversals that are in games like this, it would be boring as hell

Also falling off the cell can be annoying. Some moves work well going off the cell, but some things are just dumb. Like if you hit sweet chin music on the top and he does the little strut afterwards you can walk right off. Plus I went for the RKO(Diamond Cutter wannabe, lol) and instead of us both falling to certain doom, I fall off and the other guy stays on top, that's just retarded.

mine is fucked up. It's stuck on the Loading screen after it checks the memory card. I've tried cleaning the game with a disc cleaner. No good. Nothing is wrong with the ps2. I tried 2 different games on it and they worked fine. I just tried to call THQ customer support and their call center is closed. They are suppose to close at 5pm pst which is 8 here and it's only 7:43pm. Did they shutdown for the Rose Bowl or something?
