now that football is officially in the shitter...
Ummm, lets see.... well, the bball team sucks too...
we got a good new coach though
and we just beat the fuck out of ETSU not that it really means all that much
and we currently have a top ten recruiting class for 2006 and now just got the 14th ranked player in the country.

yeah, he was about all I remember cheering for, well, since Alan Houston left 20 years ago I guess.

And now just got the 14th ranked player in the nation? I don't see anyone having just commited to UT. Duke Crews is UT's top commit (a good one at that; a small PF, hoping to develop some SF skills) but Scout has him ranked 36th.
Did I miss something or did UT just get a recent top 15 commit?
A very good first class for Pearl, by the way. Crews is absolutely powerful in the post. He dunks everything. Chism had some really nice offers and comes from a good basketball school. Marques Johnson was a wanted man as well and will be a tall PG, with a bit of a SG/SF feel to him. I don't know much about Tabb other than his older brother went to UCLA or something like that. ^^ yeah Crews, I have seen him ranked anywhere from 10 to 50, but the one that I read it in first had him at 14. Like you said, either way, great first class for Pearl. ^ hahahaha. Well, my theory has always been that schools only become basketball schools when their football team has historically sucked or been insignificant... Kentucky, Carolina, State, UConn, Kansas, Indiana etc.

If I remember.. Pearl broke the record of the first coach with 200 wins... it took him 250 or so games.
Shattered the record of one of the all time greats to acheive that record.
