I think the ESPN one is released for the 6 oclock sportscenter. To me though it's still too early to care about the polls.

We were 26 in the coaches and like 28 in AP, so we should in at least the coaches. I checked ESPN and no new poll is out. It may come out later in the day.

ahha wtf.. Why did Texas jump UConn [and take 2 #1 votes from Duke] after beating Southern and Samford.. not that it matters.

and why is UNC receiving a vote.

um, unc wasn't ranked preseason. thats why such a big deal was made about how we're the first defending champion to begin the season unranked since kansas in '89

Illinois is my cousin

I love Illinois and I follow them. mark my words that MSU (i know they got upset a few days ago), Wisconsin, Ohio State and Indiana will finish ahead of them....notice I didn't mention overrated Iowa

next on espn2 is UMD and gonzaga, cant wait to see how overrated Gonzaga is and how underrated UMD is...Gary has a phenominal team this year...they could do some real damage...and i hate gonzaga because they arent all that good if u ask me

the Kentucky and Iowa game should be good as well along with the Dub V and Texas game, get to see how good this texas team really is...and if our system would work on them, we play alot like Dub V

I respectfully disagree. They are probably a Top 25 team but I wouldn't group them in the elite at all. This game should be good because realistically I think their talent levels are about equal..

that doesnt change the fact that he was pointing out: some of the voters in the polls ranked UNC, or else they would have received 0 votes. therefore, as he was trying to pt out and any non-unc fan would have been smart enough to realize, those same pollsters can't be expected to leave UNC out just b/c of a close game

however, it looks like all but 1 of them were this time around

the whole idea of preseason polls is retarded. msu lose to hawaii but they are #12 and hawaiis unranked. stanford lost to uc irvine and is still 25 while nevade dropped out after winning.

If we're still undefeated next week, then we'll be in the polls.

Our first real test (@ND) is this Saturday.

i think it's that a lot of NC State fans feel like they deserve some respect. State returns 4 starters. yes we lost Hodge, our heart, soul, leading rebounder, scorer, and assist man, but when you return that many experienced players, and considerable depth, you should be getting some kind of recognition. it seems that only Jay Bilas and a few other educated members of the press are actually giving State some respect.

if we beat ND and aren't at least #25 then there's something wrong. until then i'm fine with not being ranked. who have we played? no one really.

if the 'educated' members of the press are giving us our due respect then who cares what the monkeys voting for the ap poll think

disrespected teams play harder anyways

It'll all work itself out. I'd rather not be ranked anyways... we haven't looked that great vs. shitty competition and we don't need a target on our backs. We're a 2nd-half-of-the-season team

i personally would like to stay right out of the top-25, or in the high 20's until after Alabama game, that way we don't get too big of heads when we begin the main stretch of ACC play. now one could argue that a team might play harder to try and see themselves get higher in the ranks, or keep their ranking.

But based on our history in games after becoming ranked, whats our chance of beating Iowa on the road in that case? Sure it could happen, but we almost always lose right after being ranked, even if our next opponent is Clemson.
