Blitzer asked the general about Cheney's "last throws" comments, and whether or not they were accurate.
The general said yes
Blitzer brought up a graphic demonstrating that they've significantly increased.
The general said "well it doesn't take a genius to strap on explosives and blow up yourself."
THANK YOU GENERAL. BECAUSE WHEN HE ASKED ABOUT THE STATUS OF THE INSURGENCY, HE WAS ACTUALLY ASKING ABOUT THEIR I.Q. NUMBERS. YOU SURE PUT MY MIND TO REST.
When we're in a costly war, is it too much to ask to have military leaders that actually engage in the issues rather than give talking points?

Oh, and here's a gem from Rumsfeld:
Quote : | " BLITZER: Well, the — one of the Republican Congresswomen, Jean Schmidt of Ohio, basically called him [Murtha] a coward.
RUMSFELD: I don’t think that’s correct. I think she quoted somebody.
BLITZER: She quoted a letter that — she got a letter. But she read it…
(CROSSTALK)
RUMSFELD: It didn’t even refer to Congressman Murtha." |
