they did what, 10 eps? and they're coming back in january. I've heard people say they're just taking a break in the middle of the season, and it's all going to be counted as s2 when it's said and done

^ That's right. SciFi does the majority of their flagship shows that way so they can stretch out the season. I honestly prefer it like that. New episodes to be shown in January are still part of season 2. If you've done some research, though, you may already know what happens with some major plot points.
