Add an L to MaryLLLand and then we need to push hard for the Music City to save us from Boise!

I dropped an email to the general email and let them know the Pack would bring Tens of Thousands of people to enjoy Nashville for New Years and give any Big Ten team they pick all they want and hopefully then some!

Show your love for the Music City Bowl now! and hopefully they will show us love after Saturday!

i wouldn't mind going to Boise.

never been to the northwest,

plus one could conceivably squeeze in a day of hitting the slopes

i would much rather party in nashville. plus, with our red uni's, we'd stick out too much on that blue field...there's no sneaking up on anyone out there!

Have you looked at the cost trying to get to Boise? I haven't seen plane tickets for under $700 round trip...thats not going to happen. I'd love to spend new year in Nashville! Spend $150 round trip Airfare an then I'm sure I would dump plenty of $$$ into the Bars, resturants and hotels of Nashville too!

Its now officail that the Music City Bowl will select an ACC team. They have changed all the info on their website and state that the "ACC is the home team for 2005."

We need to take care of business on Saturday and then we will officially be in the mix! The ACC needs to lock up 1 more to make sure all eligible teams will go to bowls...unless UNC beat VT in Blacksburg. The emerald Bowl is the likely target.

2 of the other At-large bids are already gone...TCU to the Houston Bowl and Navy to Poinsetta.

http://www.musiccitybowl.com/online_fan_guide/coliseum.html

at the very bottom of the page. It was just changed/added this morning. I wrote an email pimping the Pack this morning and then check the site later and they had added all the ACC stuff. The poll this morning was "What Big 10 team would you like to see in the Music City Bowl" so I wrote an email saying that NCSU should play opposite Northwestern (Hi scoring Offense against good Defense)

We need to get on this bandwagon so our administrators can say their is a buzz about people going and we would sell a bunch of tickets!

If we beat Maryland the Music City Bowl doesn't even have to wait to see what else happens...they could offer us right at the final buzzer in a Victory!

I'm ready...New Years in Nashville!

well, we'll cross that bridge IF we get to it. I don't get false hopes up for shit like this and I don't know what to say about this Md game. Just really looking forward to Saturday.

The Northwestern thing seems almost prophetic to what I predicted earlier on, but I've been wrong before...

Don't they have to wait until the bowls ahead of them choose their teams?

Anyone have the list in the order they select for the ACC?

I used to know it, then they added 3 teams

No...an at large bowl can take the bottom team if they want...and yes 3-5 would make us the bottom.

I don't know the exact rules but I think they may have to wait for some but not all to select if they want a higher team. They seem to want BC too so if BC is released to the Music City Bowl they will probably be the pick over us...as they should be.

Didn't you guys know that getting your hopes up is all part of being a NCSU fan...the next part is to be brutally let down!

BCS - Orange if not in Championship game
Gator
Peach
Champs Sports (formally Tangerine, Visit FLA, Micron PC.com, etc)
Minike Muffler (formally Tire Bowl)
MPC computer (Blue Turf)

The At-large options left with Poinsetta, Las Vegas, and Houston gone are;

Emerald (will be ACC Tie in next year)
Music City (")
Liberty

^I hope not...they need to ship UVA to Emerald. If we win we would be 4 of our last 5 when UVA will have been smacked around by VT and an L to Miami

^PAC 10 won't have enough teams bowl eligible...and since the ACC will have a tie in with emerald next year they may want to throw the ACC a bone.

since I'm from nashville and will be back over winter break, I had been hoping this would be a possibility...and thank you vandy for making UT ineligible for a bowl because they would probably be in this bowl otherwise. Music City Bowl officials were on a sports talk station here in nashville saying that as long as NC State becomes eligible, they are a team that they would be extremely interested in. So let's get past Maryland, and then you can all come stay in my city and watch us beat up on a Big 10 team

I live in Nashville now and I would love to see the Pack play here since it would mean that I could afford to see them.

However, I hate this stupid city and I can't wait to leave.

It would be kinda cool to see us play wisconsin in the Music City bowl. They are currently the BIG TEN number 6, Music City's pick for their bowl, and if they should pick us, it would be a rematch of two of last year's sweet 16 teams....

I doubt that would have any effect on their choice, but Nashville would be much much better than San Fran....

I don't understand why that is in a baseball stadium rather than Candlestick, where the 49ers play.

^^ The Gaylord Bowl is bad enough, but would you want to play in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl? Colorado State and Navy have been given that privilege for their success this season.

NC State remains probably their top choice if available...here's the article in today's Tennessean (the nashville newspaper)

http://www.thetennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051128/SPORTS06/511280341

The official word for Music City Bowl invite won't come until Sunday though.

I heard on the news this morning that NCSU officials confirmed that there would be a team in San Francisco over the holidays but wouldnt confirm whether it was football. They said they are going to delay an anouncement until after the ACC championship.

i could have missed something though, i was only half watching/listening while i was getting ready this morning
