That reminds me of the H2 commercial they always used to show with the "badass" jumping a series of small hills and right before the commercial cuts off, on the last hill, you can see it clearly break a tie rod. haha

omfg a broken tie rod

like that doesn't happen on like every other IFS setup when playing on rocks.

one of the 1304971357134134 reasons that IFS sucks for rock stuff.

let's see your jeeps clad with armor run around in iraq and run on all kinds of shitty fuels. the engine in them is awesome the truck is awesome. they werent designed absolutely to abolish short wheel based single purpose vehicles such as faggot jeeps. they were meant to transport troops around have a decent offroad capability. how many does your jeep seat? can ur jeep run on paint thinner?

Don't be such a bitch.

I have nothing against H1s (the more original hummer, almost like what the military uses).

The other hummers are pants.

Military-grade armored hummers kick even more ass (and wouldn't I love to own one of those).

When it comes to the civilian market, though, an H2 is a stupid purchase.

having been in the army and driven both military humvees and civilian humvees, the civilian soccer-mom mobiles cant hold a candle to the military versions, so its not really fair to compare wranglers to military hummers.

not really, it's just that it has already been posted on TWW before...thus not only is it old, it's not an original for this board

Naw i agree with yall, the H1 is a sick vehicle and yes it does carry more people than a jeep would. I am tired of all the H2 owners thinking that their H2 is the most capable offroad vehicle on the planet. Personally an H1 would be awesome. I agree..the H1 wasn't designed to compete against Jeeps or other offroad vehicles. But every H2 owner that i have run into has thought that their H2 was more capable than my Jeep. Besides, doesn't the H2 come equipped with 35s? Most of those Jeeps on the video were on 33s.

they're standard gm gas/diesel engines... far from awesome, and they posess no additional special capabilities to run off alternative fuels than any other gas/diesel motor.

They're big, gaudy, expensive Tahoes in my opinion. (H2's that is) No more awesome than a Tahoe on 34.5's.

The H2's come stock with 315/70R17 all terrains, which are pretty much 34.5 x 12.5's, while the H1's come stock with 37 x 12.5 MTR's. Just FYI.

Humvees started with bias 36" goodyear (RTII or RT/II or someshit?), then went to radial 37" goodyear MT.

They now use MT/Rs, since those replaced the MT.

Having owned two jeeps, I can say their weakness is their transmissions. The AX-5 and Ax-15's are notorious for shitting out, though I can't say I know much about the auto trannys. Auto trannys in Wranglers are for sorority girls and posers anyway.

I don't really know anything about SUV's except that I had a Grand Cherokee Limited v-8 for a year and I loved it, but I was wondering if production Defender 90's are any good?

Everything from Land Rover is well made. Occasionally people have problems with fluid leaks, but a gasket and proper sealent fixs that. I love my Discovery and it has been absolutley flawless, but I keep it meticulously maintained, K&N filters and synthetic oils ect.. The only thing that blows is that the engine must run 90 octane or above fuel, and yes you can feel a difference running 89. I run 93 premium, and as long as you are cool shelling a little extra out, you will love it. Mine has full time 4WD (not AWD or selective 2WD to 4WD) so it uses a bit more gas then say a comparable mid sized SUV like a Ford Explorer. But you can feel the difference in handling and control.

Not that Freelander. What a piece of crap. It's a Ford Escape folks! Not to bash the escapes, but the Freelander is an overpriced, gaudy, Escape. Nothing escpecially strong or special for anything other than grocery getting. Not to mention that God-awful flat-finish plastic trim that fades over time and stains like hell.
