My car key is stuck in the passenger side door. It moves a little but doesn't rotate, neither can I pull it out... Any body can handle this? It's a minivan, toyota previa. Will pay for the labor...
Or if you know a good shop around campus that does key stuff, please let me know. Thanks~~

yeah... i checked yellow page mostly, they specialize in opening locked door or replacing the key box.... i am not sure if they can pull out a stuck one because they may have to disassemble the door key box or somthing... 11/28/2005 4:19:50 AM |

piss on it then wiggle it out...the weak acids in urine will break down the dirt and wash it right out then the key should come out if it is lodged because of debris. 11/28/2005 11:59:31 AM |

just leave it there. some resourceful person (most likely black) will figure it out and remove the key and take your car. win win situation 11/28/2005 1:13:17 PM |

Well... here goes my update I got WD-40 and tried to spray as much as possible and then tried wiggling... but didn't work.
Maybe because I could not spray deep inside the key box. There is not enough room to stick the straw in the key hole as a key is stuck there.
I am starting to suspect an electrical problem... Door lock switch on the passenger side is a little funny. It unlocks (actually, I can tell it tries to unlock from the sound) but there is no response in the lock button. 11/28/2005 10:37:16 PM |

is the door unlocked or locked, and is it completely closed or what? makes a huge difference, and where the fuck is it at? if its near gorman street i could take a look at it when i go to cookout in a few 11/28/2005 10:45:55 PM |

^69 the door is locked i can open the door with some trick: 1. roll down the passenger window 2. stand out side of the passenger side 3. press the unlock button (it makes a clicking sound but immediately goes back to locked) 4. simultaneously, pull the door very hard, then it will open i live on gorman, too. but it's too dark to see the keyhole now ... thanks for the offer, though

I would try graphite before anything liquid in a lock. 11/28/2005 11:10:24 PM |

^ in fact, i just got "WD-40" (to clean and lubracate) and "lock-ease graphited lock fluid" (to use afterwards for further protection). the problem is that i don't have enough room to stick that snokle or straw or whatsoever...
maybe i will check the fuse box tomorrow morning (in case it has to do with a burned fuse or something) and then, i will drive it to a nearby locksmith (i did call several places but they were all unavailable...)
it's not that urgent because i can drive it, but it looks really funny to have that key stuck there
thanks anyway...

if you could bring it by my house on brent tomorrow after 5, i could have it out in about an hour, as long as the door opens, the door panel can come off, and if necessary, the lock cylinder will come out 11/29/2005 12:08:25 AM |

doesn't imply he has a spare key. there a thing called hotwiring... then again, if your smart to do that, then you could prolly get a key out of the lock when its stuck.12/4/2005 7:46:32 PM |
