What's the best way, other than a body shop, to get a dent (1 foot in diameter) out of a front fender on a new VW?

find the same fender from a salvage yard, then bolt off and bolt on. though im sure probably someone with actual proffesional experience can give better advice.

bondo would be cheaper...but its harder for the novice. but a 1 ft dent may be too large for bondo depending on depth

it might be possible, provided none of the dent intrudes upon a roled part of the fender.

any creases or anything like that through the middle of the dent?

otherwise as mentioned above, just get a large piece of wood or something, put behind the dent and tap it out, maybe use a rubber mallet on the metal itself if its being difficult.

since its in the fender be prepared for it not to look perfect when youre done

or go find one at a junkyard, costs a little more, but saves you lots of time
