~So, my dad's decided I need to give up my lil' ol' Explorer for something that's got decent gas milage and is a tad more reliable. And has less than 250k miles on it. (She's just SEASONED! Not OLD!) He's suggested I look for something that's about $6,000, decently small, and runs well.

~Well...let's face it. I'm not a car person. I'm a computer person. I'm a mildly ditzy blonde. And I'm going to end up buying a car for one of three reasons:

01. It's pretty!
02. It's shiny!
03. There's a cute salesguy!

~Can anyone give me a reasonable place to start looking or an idea of what I could get for aformentioned price tag? It's (obviously!) gonna be a used car...I want one that's four door, but that's not a big deal. I also want a cdplayer, but I can always get one later.

~Oh, and it needs to be an automatic. Foot surgery a few months ago makes driving a stick iffy...which makes me sad because I love them so.

~Thanks, ya'll.~

I just got my wife a 99 XJ (Jeep Cherokee). It's the Classic package, very nice looking, the 4.0L Straight 6 motor in conjunction with the AW4 auto transmission is bulletproof. I like it a lot. She works for Progress Energy and has to go to work regardless of the weather/road conditions, so I wanted something 4wd for her. So far it's great, fun to drive, and plenty of get-up-and-go for an SUV. 19 mpg city 22 hwy.
