I'm am probably going to fail organic chemistry 2.....if i'm lucky i'll make a D, but I wanna know if this class is C-walled for Biology majors. I know I could look this up somewhere but TWW is faster.

You really should become a lot more familiar with your major before you dive any further into it...ya know, items like which courses you need to take/ which are C-wall, career/graduate school opportunities, workload, etc.

https://packtracks.ncsu.edu/scripts/RegRec/adadgbk.pl?curr=BS&dgr_key=11BLS%20%202036%20&title=BIOLOGICAL%20SCIENCES&

That is the most recent degree key. You can double-check by going under degree audit in PackTracks.

^^^,^
According to that degree key it is NOT a C-wall course. Only ENG101 and CH101 are C-walled.

I still dont think it is because I'm biological sciences and I've known people in my major to make D's and are still forced to repeat the course.

well most prereqs for classes usually entail that you have a C or better

since CH 223 is a prereq for BCH 451 im pretty sure you have to have a C whether the degree key says so or not

ex. it doesnt say that math is C walled, but i know for fact you have to have a C in 131 to go on to 231

Perlith is right (as usual ). If you look at the degree audit on line, the C wall courses are those with zeros to the right of them in the column that says "MaX D allowed". This is our interesting way of saying that ZERO Ds are allowed in that course, aka it is a C wall course. You must have a C (-) or above for the course to count toward the degree and for you to go on to the next course that uses it as a pre-requisite.

If the course is not a C wall and you get a D, yes, it will count toward your degree and you probably can go on, but you need to ask yourself is it wise to do so? Do you have enough foundation to build on it? My thought would be probably not. It would probably help you to retake the course and improve your foundation knowledge before going on to a higher course.

If you check the course description for BCH 451 it lists CH 223 as a pre-req. It does not say that one has to have a C in it as well (confirming the info on the degree audit). Still, would you be wise to take 451 without at least a C in 223? Probably not.

Well I agree...If you don't build the foundation, you're pretty much screwed from there on out. I'm a senior now and I see chemistry and biology stuff all the time in my classes.
