that game ruined my night

You better go ahead and get used to it. This game was like a fast forward replay of ncstate basketball over the last 7 years.

that might have been worse than when bennerman threw up that shot and it hit the back of the backboard at the end of a game

we are nc state, herb sendek is our basketball coach, we're never going to win the acc championship, we're never going to win the national championship, until he's gone, period.

^^^^what else is he gonna do? how about NOT dribbling to the corner where its easy to get doubled. how about knowing that we have a timeout left and use it. just two suggestions.

I really wish we would get decent plays off on last second situations though...that's our play...the slow dribble...walk around...see if anyone can jump into a defender and draw a foul...

run the valpo bryce drew play or something...come on

IT IS NOT EVTIMOV...ATSUR AND BENNERMAN BOTH HAD THE EXACT SAME PLAYS LAST YEAR...it's our "last second play"

^so do i. poor ceds the only guy who looked like he played with any heart.

as ugly as the loss was, at least he was certainly a bright spot.

unfortunately, it also doubles the pain knowing we didnt go to him towards the end of the game.

if he plays like that all year, he can easily win ACC defensive POY

everyone defended generally well, too. Brackman was probably our worst defender. He is really bad this year. might have been tired -- would have been nice to see Herb steal some minutes with mccauley.

you guys are ridiculous. work on last second plays? if we had played better all game it wouldn't have come down to the last second. this wasn't herb's fault, both teams looked like complete shit out there tonight, i really have no idea why. it was a horrible game for both teams, it just sucks we had to be the one that came out on the bottom. at least they were ranked ahead of us.

Exactly. Both are good teams and well-coached. Its not like Herb was missing all of those 3s or Steve Alford was throwing those passes to nobody.

I read just a couple posts and see we showed classic NCSU bball. I didn't watch it because I don't have espn and I was getting head and missed the ending on the radio. I said this back on 11/8 in another thread and I'll apply it again here:

Quote :
"Lets face it people. Our system is too complex for these new guys to pick it up fast and run it like pros.

This season is going to be like the past several.

We will start off slow and struggle, and finally when the new guys get the hang of things, and the chemistry happens, we'll turn it on in time for the tourney and the dance.

One of these years we'll assemble 5-7 guys with 2-3 years experience total, they will peak sooner, and we will actually go very deep into the tourney but NCSU won't win it again for a very long time, not with Herbs system.

I'd be perfectly happy to be a yearly sweet 16 team with once every 4-5 year dips into the final four.

To ask more than that out of NCSU basketball is deluding yourself."

I also mentioned in some other thread where we would lose some games we weren't supposed to and win some ones we weren't supposed to.

When we face the fact that we aren't going to be a Duke or UNC anytime in the near future our lives will be stress free. Just be assured if everyone is healthy, we'll be fine, make an appearance in the NCAA tourney, have a decent showing, and bow out after a round or three. Just accept it.

Some of you have the brains of a dead rat! Sendek didn't cause us to lose... 24 DAMN TURNOVERS COST US THE GAME, I DIDN'T SEE SENDEK MAKE ANY OF THOSE

^I agree it wasnt Herb's fault. However, I think its funny when you say that Herb didnt cause the turnovers or Herb didnt not knock down the shots. I know its on the players to execute but with arguements like that you could say nothing was the coach's fault.

I'll give Herb a pass on this one for the most part. We played like absolute ass from the very beginning and the D was the only thing that kept this close.

Astur had 2 turnovers and 2 fouls with the first 2 minutes. That takes him out of the game immediatly. Not going to happen very often.

We couldn't hit the broad side of a barn for the 3 point line to 6" from the goal. Thankfully Iowa couldn't either till the very end. We've got some silly winning percentage when we hold opponents under 60 points. It didn't work out last night. Meh, its November.

Yeah its frustrating but what the hell, that's watch watching hoops is about sometimes.

What was up with Brackman - anyone else notice him missing a defensive assignment, Gavin getting on him, and then Brack wouldn't pass him the ball when he was open?

Gavin looked like a Hodge who couldn't finish on offense.

Cam was too pissed off at the refs to play well and didn't play within the scheme.

Engin and Tony looked more like freshmen than players with experience.

The whole team looked slow and apathetic.

^^Brackman played the worst game I have seen him play here. He gave them the 4 point lead after it was tied at 35. He dropped a pass that hit him in the chest and then his guy beat him down the court for a lay-up.

^Yes, why did he still play, Costner or Fells never even took off their warm ups. Our team isnt going to do a whole lot with B-Rack on the court. He is a great baseball player....go play baseball

Herb said Costner (I think) was resting a bum leg before the game.

Brack had an off night, but christ, you people overreact with this "quit the team" shit.

It was his put-back and foul shot that even gave us a chance in the last minute.

Everyone seems to ahve forgotten what actually happened in that game.

Evtimov was the one with the ball who dribbled wildly into traffic and tried to bail himself out by passing to Cam with one second left on the clock.

Sure, Cam's shot was pretty ugly but he had to shoot the ball two handed over the top of his head from the corner just to get it off.

Just so we're not confused, that wasn't Cam's fault.

Herb was the one that called the timeout with 5 seconds left and Hodge drivign down the lane.
