I have a laptop that has been dropped while the power cord was plugged in. I guess when it landed, it landed where the power cord goes into the laptop..and now it wont charge right. The cord itself seems to be in perfect condition, and the prongs inside the laptop jack seem to be fine. But, the only way it'll charge is if you hold the cord in with some force and at a certain angle.

Can anyone fix this? Its a pretty good laptop..so i dont wanna just throw it away,

The female in of the plug is soldered onto the motherboard. Your only repair options are to send it back to the manufacturer for repair - assuming that you have a warrenty - or have someone else make the repair. I suggest that if your laptop is under warrenty, send it in. Otherwise, have the repair made by someone you trust to do it right.

I used to do this type of repair work at my former employer. I can take a look at it if you'd like. I can't make any promises as to if it's fixable before cracking it open. Let me know.

I offered to look at it for $20, then give him a quote, he does not realize that most folks want cash per hour, and if oyu spend 1-2 hours taking apart, troubleshooting, resoldering, and re-assembling a laptop, you can ask for $100 and still be WELL below what any service shop will charge.

yeh..the place i used to work charged ~35 just to touch it, and ~90/hr to open it up and investigate/fix...and then, made no promises.
