hopefully we'll go 6-2 or 7-1 in bowl games and finish as sagarin's top conference

again.

"I'm still in firm belief that the only reason the AP voted USC to number one after that whole fiasco was to create controversy and leverage against the BCS so they could get involved. It worked too."

Or you know, it could be that USC was previously ranked higher than LSU and beat a tough Michigan team. LSU on the other hand blew out a highly overrated Oklahoma team.

But its too long ago for me to remember all the specifics. I think your the only one who thinks they "rewrote" anything.

USC was not previously ranked higher, and Michigan was a 2 loss team that year. Michigan is always overrated too.

AP & coaches poll going into the championship game:

1. USC 11-1
2. LSU 12-1
3. Oklahoma 12-1
4. Michigan 10-2

BCS had LSU and Oklahoma as the top two, thus they played in Sugar Bowl, the BCS championship game. And this was after Kansas St. stomped Oklahoma 35-7 in the Big 12 Championship game.

LSU beat Oklahoma 21-14. So the coaches poll was required to put LSU as their national champs.
USC beat Michigan 28-14. The Ap poll wasn't part of the BCS so they weren't required to vote LSU national champs.

The VT win was solid. Good job by FSU on that one.

But the win over Miami was early, when both the offenses looked like shit. Miami is much more complete now than they were during that game. And I think a rematch would have showed that, if they hadn't fucked up right after beating VT.

But that's what happens when you have divisions...
