see you guys that try and quote me as being wrong, i know for a fact we have had top 10 recruiting in the recent years and the part about mario, def. not as high ranked as u though, 4 stars high yes, but look how high Stone was ranked and what he is doing now. we are gettin OL so u need to check urself on that as well....so jbrick i think u need to check a few things before you start taking aim at my quotes, because i have yet in this thread to be wrong.

/rant

but seriously, whats the dudes name thats supposed to be shorter but gonna be as good as mario supposingly, i know PackBacker would know, where is he, by the way he knows more about our recruitement that prolly anyone on this site, much less this thread.

Willie Young is like Manny Lawson, tall, thin, athletic as hell. Littleton Wright is another guy redshirting this year who is a big DE.

Ray Brooks would have helped us at DE this year (but we didn't really need it)... hopefully he will be back with the team next year at DE. Anyone know anything about him?

We lost two bigtime D-Line recruits in Chad Green and Greg Peterson. Not sure where they ended up, but they just couldn't cut it academic-wise to get in here.

Wright is the guy im talkin about, hes a little smaller than Mario, but hear that he is going to do big things as well...we have another dynamic DE duo in the works is the word.

About the OL

Crouch will be a good one, he's really had some flashes of bigtime this season.

Julian Williams and Gerard Miller should help us out as well. Williams was injured over the summer I believe which pretty much forced him to RS. He is redshirting as a FR this year. Gerard redshirted last season but moved to the OL from the DL and is really making improvements.

Andy Barbee is a pretty good looking center from what I've heard. He is redshirting this year as well.

Kalani Heppe and Jon Holt will be back. Getting OL in the system for awhile is a big thing. Experience and age is a big thing in the trenches.

Teddy Larsen and Garrett Kline (JUCO) are both redshirting this year. Larsen will have 4 years to play and Kline will have two more.

Jeraill McCuller is a big guy that is redshirting this year. Nobody really talks of him but the guy is a monster and should help us out considerably down on the line.

McKeon and James Newby should both be back.

Hopefully Derek Morris will decide to come back for his SR year. I've heard he may be NFL bound, but he would be a force next year for us.

Prospects:
I believe we're in good shape for landing Marcus Gilbert, a bigtime lineman out of FL. 6'6" 280. I think he may be UF bound though.

Hutch Erickson is a big guy down there from Lumberton who we've made up a lot of ground with. He could be a NCSU commitment soon.

We've also got Gavin Smith coming. He's a local kid who is a monster out on the field. Big dude, should help us out a lot down the road.

We were really trying to get Carl Johnson from Southern Durham, he is one of the top linemen in the country. But like several of our recruits, he decided to follow Doc Holladay to UF.

Not really recruiting many OL because of the number we are redshirting this year. I think Jon Holt's little brother who has committed to Duke could still be thinking about us.

I've heard Wright is supposed to be very good.

I think you may also be thinking about Green or Peterson. Those two were supposed to be really really nasty... especially Green (Who was supposed to be handed down Holts/Mario's #9 jersey). Too bad neither will ever make it here

We have a good crop of young DE's. Problem is, none except for Brooks has much experience (And Brooks has looked fantastic when he backed up Mario his frosh year). Willie Young is supposedly looking super as well... but he needs a lot more weight, and from what I understand, our coaches think Kyle Newell will make a great DE one day.

I love the way Amato recruits. We may continue to suck, but dammit... we're gonna have some nasty DE's while he's here.

I have a feeling next year is gonna be just like 2004 though. A lot of talent on the D-Line... but they're all freshman (FWIW: We finished #114 Pass D in the nation that year)

..and if you want someone that knows recruiting, hit up REDWOLF. I don't follow it like I used to... but Redwolf always is dead on. Wadhead isn't bad either... rarely see them on here nowadays though

I've heard 70/30 in favor of him coming back. He's still working on it, though

We're really really reeeaally gonna need him next season. We're screwed without him to tell you the truth... at least for a year or two until the young guys come around

"Hutch Erickson"

You mean Hutch Eckerson. His father played here and we are playing catch up to Virginia right now. Last I heard from him, Virginia had talked about playing time as soon as next year for him, which is a big reason why he is looking at them.

But the last Lumberton player on our team was a walk-on, and his name was Sean Locklear .

It's Virginia Tech now... He basically lost interest in UVA after everyone and thier grandmother left.

Eckerson, that's it. I'm sure his dad is really pulling for us here.

UVa looked solid for him but since they have lost 2 coaches, one of which was recruiting him I believe.

I think we end up with him, and it could be soon.

Nice synopsis on our O-Line up there. McKeon won't be back, though. And you forgot about our best returning lineman, Leroy Harris.

The kid will be at prep school more than likely next year.

Our RB for this class will be Josh Adams.

^^^ It doesn't mean he wont visit at all, it just means he wont visit this weekend. I mean, it's 50/50 whether we'll get one or not, but it's not the end of it.

And we are recruiting Josh Adams at HB (Tramain's position), not RB

My little brother played against this guys schools JV team and lost by 60 points.

They had a freshman QB that is 6'5"

With the other teams on his list of interests why are we even included? It can't be because of Stone...

Amato has to be in bed with his high school coach.

PackBacker... Josh told me we're recruiting him at RB just like every school on his list.

Some big names on the visit list for tomorrow... not sure I can post it since its from Pack Pride, but if you see the guys, show them some support.

A couple bigtime DB's/WR's on the list.

I've heard we're recruiting him at HB.

It may be one of those "We'll give you a shot where you want to play" situations (Ala Dejuan Morgan, Dunlap, etc.) ... but I think our coaches really like him at HB.
