Netscape 2, 3 and early 4 used the wheel and stars as the logo. In my opinion it is one of the coolest software logos of all time. (Especially for when it came out.) But BEFORE Netscape 4 there was a Netscape product that used a treasure chest as its logo. I *think* it was Netscape Internet Essentials but that is what I am trying to figure out.

there was some old game.....Morio? maybe...you could pick different species of character...like half dwarf half human and you would go down in to dungeons and attack things. Very 2d. THe one thing i remember is that my older brother was playing it (who is 28 now, im 20) back in the day and he got attacked and "went blind" and he kept hitting the "pray" button and occasionally you would get your sight back haha. Anyone know what im talking about? It was some type of computer he had.. 12/16/2005 7:10:43 PM |

I was so addicted to Xtree that I kept using it even after long file names were introduced in Windows. To this day half of my files are SMASHI~1.MP3. Every time Windows Explorer crashes during a simple file copy I weep for the days of yore.

oh snap!....yeah I had a knockoff.
I can't remember what program manager I used before Windows came out, but it was pretty cool and very customizable. I was just looking for it, and apparently I didn't save a copy.
I also had a copy of the "desktop environment" microsoft used in DOS...I think I ripped it from some other software and customized it for my own purposes. It had windows that you could move around or minimize down to icons...otherwise it looked just like MS Edit or QBasic. I guess it was just a stripped down version of Windows 2:

yea, so do I. I remember getting my first 2 MP3s (Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy & Radiohead - Karma Police) on there after I got a CD burner.
Also, I can't find a screenshot but this thread made me think of a program called Fate-X3 on AOL I used to mail bomb, im bomb, and "TOS" people. Talk about being a l33t hacker
