I'm starting this now. This will be Mets fans homebase of operations for trolling the fuck out of the Braves fans come October.

That is all. If I forget to bump this every couple months I'm a jackass.

Well since the two Mets fans on TWW troll the Braves's threads, then I'll start trolling this thread.

No actually the Mets should be much better next year, assuming Wright continues to get better, Beltran rebounds from his sup-par year, and Delgado puts up his regular stats. They'll certainly have more talent than the Braves, but we'll see what Schurholtz and Cox can do in 06.

Mets fans will be the 2006 NL East Champions?? I like the odds of the fans winning the division better than the actual team.

the Cards will sweep all three divisions

they are such a powerhouse, they will make a deal where if they have the best record in the NL (again) that they will be named rulers for the National League and will skip the postseason for 2006

(here comes the obligatory "you already skipped the WS in 2004" statements)

"I maintain my prediction that the Mets will make the playoffs as a wildcard team. Laugh all you want but the team is too good to play like this much longer.

Beltran will be 100% in 5 or so days and the pitching seems to finally be there. There is a clear and recognizable difference to the lineup with Beltran in there as opposed to him not being in the lineup.

I'm not worried yet but this week has been trying.."

Well I didn't think Beltran and Cam would try and kill themselves in Centerfield either. They were still in it in September at the very least.

Anyhow. Lets let this one die for now. Or flame me so I have something to respond to tommorow morning when I get in to work!

that is so when the mets win the division next year, we would have called it not only almost a year early, but we can look at all those bastard braves fans and tell them off to fuck off :-d

Hey I'm not crying. Shit happens... people get hurt. It's part of the game..

That response came in a thread making fun of the Mets for an 0-5 start and proclaiming they would finish last -- which they didn't.

Although that picture looks a lot like Coach K when Redick was throwing away a chance at the national championship game in '04.

He should have sold those to Gary Williams. Probably could have used them to research how to coach the other night.

Anyway we can flame each other about Duke/UConn later. This is the Mets thread..

You're happy about that? I'm happy that my BoSox unloaded him. He was a disaster.

All you Braves fans should be cheering for someone else to win the division. It would be the only way the NL East will ever has a shot at a WS again. The Braves are a choke job and have what can only be the worst post-season manager in the history of baseball. Maybe they can fire Cox every September and re-hire him in Novemeber. They need a filler to actually teach them how to win a game when it counts.

this is fucking moronic on so many levels. why would a braves fan want an NL East team to win the series? braves fans hate the mets, phils, and marlins.

and that same old shit about the braves choking every year is lame. yeah, we know they fall apart every october. i've always believed that its alot more difficult to win over 162 games than it is to get hot for 3 weeks in october. the braves streak is by far the most impressive run in the last 30+ years of baseball, if not all sports, if not all time.

but we can save that discussion for another thread, this one is for laughing at the mets

maybe, just maybe, the correlation between wild card teams and success has to do with the fact they gained their spot by getting hot. i think its probably a lot easier to hit the playoffs running than to start cold like the braves always have to do, since they lock up the division in early september

Quote :

yeah i'm sure the mets are about to dump beltran too, since one mediocre season automatically ruins a career of success

hey jackass - it was meant to be sarcastic...not an actual suggestion

But then again, that would mean a Braves fan could actually understand that kind of thing

Impressive run of what? Chokers? Wonderful teams that are above their division but at best just par for the course?

As far as most impressive run in all of sports, you are absolutely high. What about UCLA men's basketball...as far as baseball, I'd give it to the Yankees over the Braves...at least the yanks had to out maneuver the Bosox year in and year out.

as far as the wild card shit, you have got to be kidding me...again, look at the Yankees and their string of WS...just another lame dick reason some Braves fan can hang his hat on

the reason the braves are always so consistent is bobby cox, he knows how to manage a baseball game...that's what the mets and everyone else in the nl east have always lacked: the ability to out coach bobby cox

ucla's dominance isn't comprable to atlanta's dominance in the era of free agency

granted, the yankees have won 3 more world series than the braves during the streak, but since the wild card was introduced, the yankees have won 4, wild cards have also won 4

there goes your wild card debunking

and since the yankess 'streak' began in 98, they've won a total of 14 more regular season games than the braves

they're the better postseason team, but to me, that's not all that matters

Its amazing how many people are going to jump on the mets bandwagon this year, i guarantee it. It pisses me off so much being a baseball fan. Every fuckin year the team that wins the world series, all of a sudden that everyone's favorite team. After the white sox won it, the next day, i counted 18 sox hats. Whatever though, do what you gotta do i guess, but all im saying is people will jump on the mets bandwagon this year even though they've never been a fan.

Oh and he hate me is a moron. The Mets payroll was $105M this past year and will likely be lower this year..

I won't hold him against the intelligent and baseball savvy Braves fans that are mostly on here..

first of all nym i was exagerating when i said 200 million. Every year the mets think they have a chance by signing big name people and they always end up sucking dirt. the mets are 3 in the league in spending and they cant even end up 3rd in the division. and ernie how are you going to critisize a fellow braves fan, you might as well jump onto the mets bandwagon.

God you must be the dumbest mother fucker ever. The Marlins are in the NL East. I think they've won a couple of world series recently. Just because the Braves own the division title, it doesn't keep the other teams from the wild card.

Philip Humber is soft tossing from 45 feet after his surgery which is a good sign. He should be in the Mets rotation in 2007 I think. Kids got a Zito-like curve and 95 mph fastball. All the reports are that he is coming back even faster then expected and will likely start pitching in games in June!

Also, with Pelfry (WHEN Omar signs him) we have 2 kids under 23 that are on the fast track to the rotation at Shea from everything I've read. When we drafted Pelfry he was, along with Devine and Hansen, the kid most thought would break in first in the bigs.
