I just noticed today that one of my guitar strap buttons is a little loose? What is the best method to fix this? I was thinking that putting a slightly bigger screw in would fix it, but thought I would ask others befor i screw something up.

get a toothpick and break it to the same depth as the hole. screw the peg back in with the toothpick in the hole. it should take up the extra room so it isn't loose anymore.

^^Add some wood filler too and it will NEVER come out-I did that and it is still hasn't come out in almost 8 years.

i've used the toothpick method, sans wood filler. only i added a couple of pieces of toothpick. has held up ~5 years so far.

i would avoid using a bigger screw. if you use one too big, you may end up splitting the wood.
