Which is the better graphics solution? The newest and greatest from nVidia or ATI. What say you, peons?

it changes every year which brand is in the lead. ATI was ahead for awhile until the semi-recent high end nVidia releases.

when I bought my card, the ATI x800XL 512 was the best bang for the buck...has 12 pixel pipes, runs everything i own maxed out...I love it

ATI x1800 is THE best right now, but it'll cost you 600 bucks or so

I have always used ATI and never had problems with their products. I am not like a loyal fan or anything though, if nVidia gave me a better deal the next time I get a video card, I would just as soon go for it.

7800 gtx 512mb destroys the x1800 in many benchmarks... check out anandtech...
