you'd be welding in that support bracket. maybe i could get a few E36 folks together and we could all do it at once and drink beer.

*when welding thin metal it one should spot weld*

note how everything has turned colors? this means they have probably warped that mount somewhat by trying to get a pretty bead.

^wtf are you talking about? wrong.

i'd be willing to do the welding at my shop if a group of you want to get together, or just for you. few bucks and a few beers, i'm happy.

awesome. can you do it on the car? thatd be best.. we'd probably need a lift though.. does your shop have one?

it might be possible on jackstands, but i dunno.

me and jared are in. i might know one other guy, too

depends, i'd have to take a look at it in person. i'd imagine it should be easily doable with it jacked up/on jackstands. no lift at my place. just let me know when you're going to be over in my hood next and i'll step across the lot and see just how tight it'll be. main thing is getting my fat head w/ helme into a position to see, i can fit the gun about anywhere.

brain fart... i ment tack it in a bunch of places first welding a bead will warp anything under 1/4" (not including 1/4") imho but thats just what i learned growing up

that honestly doesn't look that thin to me now that i look back at it though

well yeah, you just dont hold it up and run a bead. you obviously gotta tack it in a few places.

hrm, not too sure. not as soon as this weekend, i still need to order the plates. btw, don't get them from TMS ($50), you can get em from GC through Mpact for $2 (two).

probably in january.. i'll be out of town this weekend and will be out again through the 27th or so.
