The car will be nowhere near done.

Been drilling out spotwelds lately, and getting rid of the air conditioning shit. I'm gonna pick up a quart of paint tomorrow so's I can dress out all the new (to me) sheetmetal, as it's blue and my car is white.

Then I gotta do some more cleaning up and whatnot.

Trying to figure out what to start first...cage or suspension.

Amazingly, all the suspension is intact. Now get this: there ain't hardly ANY damage behind the header/radiator support. I might only have to replace half of the header. The right side might be slightly bent, but it's not crumpled at all. Of course, all the front cosmetic sheetmetal is getting replaced.

The big thing is that most everything is worn the fuck out. I won't be able to replace it all at one time, because G1 Teg stuff is fairly pricey. The front uses torsion bars instead of conventional springs. They aren't very cheap...about 350 for the pair.

Anyway, the running gear needs attention before she hits the track, and I just don't have the money to do it in time.

IMO i would just get some susp. save the cage for later.

build a car you can drive to the track and track and drive home comfortably

no harm done doing some hpde's without a cage.

id get suspension

then pads/SS lines/fluid (and some autozone 2 year replacement rotors)

then cage/seat/harness

that kinda how i built my blue car up.

but if you got the loot, get it all at once. if not, then stick to a mod that can be made without having to buy another part, like buying a seat without a harness, or some pads without some SS lines and fluid.
