looks pretty cool to me. and if you ever need a tough french guy, get jean reno
actually, its amazing how the casting fits almost perfectly with what i had pictured, although i still would've taken harrison ford over hanks

eh, I think hanks is good...after all it's just a professor who gets thrown into the middle of the shitstorm...kind of like a teacher having to fight in WWII

Catholic muscle in media and entertainment? Haha...they're the Wienstiens, not the O'Sheas...catholics don't control shit on that side of the house

Christians don't like the book because it presents religous FICTION as fact, and the general ignorant public is just dumb enough to believe its true. It's gotta be in the Bible, the Di Vinci Code said so! 12/14/2005 2:10:30 PM |

Christians need to realize a lot of the shit the religion believes is fiction taken for fact...unless they really believe dudes lived to be 300 years old, that the workd was magically flooded for a month or so, etc, etc
just because it's old fiction doesn't make it any more true 12/14/2005 2:12:54 PM |

Let me rephrase:
This movie presents herecies that contradict scriptures and other historical accounts of Jesus' life and the history of the Church as fact.
If you aren't a Catholic then you could probably care less whether they are making up facts about the Catholic Church. And if you aren't a Christian, you could probably care less if they are making up facts about the Bible and about Jesus' life. 12/14/2005 2:19:10 PM |

The Da Vinci Code is a fantasy book, because it spouts out tales in regards to Christainity and sells them as uncovered truths. It's a great read though and hopefully a good movie. 12/14/2005 2:34:07 PM |

what does it matter? if you don't believe what the book says, then you should be secure enough in your own beliefs to not care what someone else says. 12/14/2005 2:51:31 PM |

I am. My point is it like if someone made a book/movie about World War II, and it was created as a historical fiction, but they made up some battles, got some names and dates wrong, the average American would go on their happy way thinking they just learned something about WWII. WWII enthusiasts wouldn't like the movie because it got the facts wrong.
I've studied art history as well as Catholicism. I'm just amused at how many people are going to think they actually know something about either because they read this book.

ENTERTAINMENT that some people seem to thank is a historically accurate depiction when it clearly isn't.
Americans are ignorant enough as it is... the last thing we need is more fluff stamped FACT. 12/14/2005 6:35:29 PM |

i read it too, but I like the theories about jesus proposed in "the jesus mysteries" more than the ones in "holy blood." Holy blood assumes that jesus actuallly existed. the jesus mysteries proves that he didn't. 12/15/2005 1:17:03 PM |

It looked... over-produced, or soemthing. Things looked too perfect, too sharp, etc. Like the word box he pulls out... looked like something you'd find at Belk's on the $19.99 gift idea tables, not some historical relic. I dunno, I just thing things, including the people, should be dusty and unkept like it was in Indiana Jones most of the time. 12/15/2005 3:32:09 PM |
