"ATLANTA -- It appears that Turner Broadcasting's longtime ownership of the Braves may be nearing its end.

Turner Broadcasting employees received an e-mail late Tuesday night in which their CEO, Phil Kent, informed them that the Braves and Turner South -- their regional cable network -- were being put up for sale. "

Does this mean that TBS will no longer carry the Braves games?

Maybe someone will buy them and take them past the first round after they win their 100000000 division in a row.

"success" can't be determined based on just reaching the playoffs.....

would the Bulls of the 90's been considered "successful" had they simply been one-and-done in the NBA playoffs every year? doubtful

and how about the Bills?

yes it can

the braves have been more consistent than any franchise in history in an era when its harder than ever to put together a string of titles

i know that they've olny won the series once

i've discussed this ad naseum on this board, success isn't only winning the world series

its easier to get hot for a few weeks in september and october than it is to win consistantly over a 162 game schedule

If just judging by wins and loses and your argument Ernie, my Cardinals have been the best team in baseball the last two years. Led MLB in wins both years but didn't win the series.

Im saying success is ALL about the playoffs. Of course St Louis wasn't considered the best team. They haven't won a series since 1982 so no i don't guess they have had much success the last 15 years.

This thread is old

Look towards the bottom of the page.

On that note though - the idea of Arthur Blank (falcon's owner) purchasing the Braves would be perfect. He has turned the falcons around and would be willing to spend $$ on the team

in the hardest league to make the playoffs, going this many years in a row is a tremendous accomplishment
