I approve the irony of this thread.
Especially when the thread title gets followed by "And those who say it is, haven't read it."

^^ Where's the irony again? The Patriot Act by itself allows FBI to use self-written warrants to perform searches. You can split hairs all day - it sounds the same to me. 12/16/2005 11:32:38 AM |

i wasnt making a funny, i was trying to figure out if the first sentence in your post was actually a continuation of the thread title, or if you just fucked up your wording. 12/16/2005 11:45:56 AM |

I think he means if you think the Patriot Act is no big deal, then you have not read it
It would be quite an undertaking to read the entire document, but I have read several of the most important sections. And I would agree that if you think the Patriot Act is good, you have probably not even read any of it or read anything of substance about it. If you find out what the Patriot Act really does, then you will most likely oppose it.

1) what section is that again?
2) what does your news story have anything at all to do with the Patriot Act?

TGD vs. legal analyst of Fox News judge Neapolitano. Hmmm... Tough choice.
Meanwhile in a remote galaxy, Frist accepted defeat and retreated at home:
Quote : | "Among the staunchest supporters of reauthorizing the provisions was Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who argued that voting against immediate reauthorization "amounts to defeat and retreat at home."
But due to the complexity of Senate rules, Frist ultimately voted against cloture. " |
