I remember stopping by some guys house with a friend of mine where he had the same issue. My friend told him to turn the bike over and try to start it. When we got back in the car I was like "Turn it upside down? that help?"

"No, but I wanted to see him do it".

they can be a bitch once you get air in the lines, is the fuel pump really loud? turn the key on and off for about 5 seconds at a time, until it pulls prime and quiets down then try to start it. there are actually two fuel pump relays on it and its kinda complicated to jumper them and bypass them to get it primed again, i've had to do it on an '05 before. nothing you want to get into if you dont know what you are doing. just make sure that tank is as damn full as you can get it, or you dont have a chance of getting it started.

good question. haha.

if it sounds like its starting, just keep trying till the air is out of the fuel lines. then it should start up good.
