I took it my freshman year and got an A-, and I'm a ME, not a programmer. When I took it, there were recorded lectures, but I was usually to get by without watching them. There was a lot of webassign stuff that I had to spend a good bit of time on, and of course the typical programming assignments. If you feel like you can learn from the book and online course materials WITHOUT having a TA to run to all the time, then the class won't be too bad. A TA is available, but not quite as accessible as a regular class. If you want all the slacker benefits of taking a traditional programming class, then stay away. You get out of it what you are willing to put into it. 12/20/2005 4:52:52 PM |
