My company is looking for a ece/cpe co-op starting right now. Preferably a junior but other experience will be weighted in the decision.
They are looking for competent people who love to figure things out and like learning. This is an R&D position so it means some hands on hardware experience.
Co-Op #8 (HW - NEBS/Safety ): Assignment - The person will work with local EMC/NEBS and Safety staff for hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and pre-compliance testing of nextgen Fiber to the User products. There will also be work to help track down required documentation in support of our Safety compliance testing, and working with other engineers at Alcatel and at outside compliance testing labs. Experience - EE and Computer science Classes; Inclination toward HW/HW design Knowledge - EE/CSE engineer w/ 3.0 or better gpa. Computer skills, Self Starter, General networking knowledge, HW lab experience & operation and configuration of test equipment, as well as Scripting language knowledge will be a plus.
They are also looking for a software person to do some programming for IP based packet transmission within a network system.
PM me for info. 12/21/2005 6:02:36 PM |

Since the response is limited, forget the 3.0 GPA requirement, and you don't have to be a junior. Just send your resume in and it will be reviewed. 12/22/2005 9:47:27 AM |

they are also looking for a person to work in their System on Chip (SOC) group doing verilog and python scripting... this position is possibly open to gradschool students as well (pays VERY well for grad students)
both positions are an excellent opportunity to pick up real world experience 12/22/2005 11:34:04 AM |

OK there is yet another position available...
this new one is the one that Tara Britt sent an Email out about...
its by far the best opportunity available PERIOD...
you will be working under litterally the brightest minds in the industry, the people that actually WROTE the standards for optical communications...
Working as a co-op for this company you will get out of EXACTLY what you put into your co-op experience. If you don't give a shit and slack off, you'll get a little time into a corperation. If you put effort in and learn whats going on around you, you will learn what you need to succeed in a rapid design cycle environment 1/27/2006 12:28:01 AM |

Might want to offer the position part time now that the semester has started. Students/Job-seekers unfortunately don't respond well when ads are posted late/into the holidays. Most aren't looking over the break when they already made other plans.
If you guys can fork out the money, and if there's still room, always the engineering career fair next week. 1/27/2006 5:41:28 AM |

^ Bit late into the semester. Unless you have a quick interview/hiring process, I'd start looking for May candidates. 3/2/2006 5:27:33 AM |

^I don't think he said that he is looking for a co-op now. Notice he said part time? This doesn't have anything to do with the co-op they were offering in december. 3/2/2006 8:13:36 AM |

send your resume to Brian.Holford@alcatel.com

Think you'll have any PT-FT positions open for temp work in May? I graduate in May but have a military obligation to fill. I'm going to be looking for something to do before I leave though, just to pay the bills, and I'd prefer something within networking.
I'm a CSC major, co-opped at Cisco, where I focused in VoIP and Wi-Fi. My senior design is to implement a SIP-enabled VoIP system over a Wi-Fi network. Got anything open? 3/2/2006 10:46:11 PM |

go screw yourself Perlith, there was no attitude in anything i said until right now. It's called reading comprehension and common sense. I would expect someone who has been around as long as you to be able to use those two skills.3/3/2006 8:21:05 AM |
