Kasay is such a tool.

The man hands out bible verses on halloween INSTEAD of candy.

I mean not only does he lose Super Bowls single handedly, he also hurts kids feelings on holidays.

youll never hear me complain about kasay missing one kick when you could go back in the game and pick tons of other plays that "single handedly" lost us that game. especially when hes been arguably the franchise's most consistent player year in and year out

Claiming Kasay is responsible for losing the Super Bowl is stupid. Here's a few things you might want to consider:

1) Time of possession - The Panther D was outa gas, since Carolina had to strike quickly not only to crack the Pats D but also to keep up with the Pats offense.

2) Viniteri - Try not to conveniently forget about the Pats kicker shanking an easy kick on the opening drive. If he makes that like he should then we don't have any argument to make.

3) Two-point conversions - The Panthers missed two, the Pats made one. If the Panthers make either conversion, the final drive requires a TD not a field goal.

In other news, Norwood missed a 49-yarder in Super Bowl 25. Yes, a FORTY-NINE YARD field goal. I'm sorry but what's the average for NFL kickers at that distance? Oh and add in the pressure of a Super Bowl.

Fucking stupid...

Well a field goal post is what, approximately 10-15 yards wide??

The FIELD is just over FIFTY THREE yards wide.

So I think Kasay jumps to #1 on this list.

And Kasay consistent? No way... he is good some seasons and awful in others... He is a disaster this year

points like this don't work.

if they made the previous field goal, then that may have changed other decision the panthers make in the game. too many variables.

however, the patriots game winning drive can be directly linked to kasay giving them the ball at the 40.

I cant emphasize enough the fact that the man gives Bible verses instead of candy on halloween.

What if you gave your girlfriend bible verses for valentines day, or gave a black man bible verses on martin luther king day.

See? Completely unacceptable.

Erios actually took this shit seriously.

And yes you are 100% correct but we are not being serious.

Kasey handed the game away like bibles.

Haha. Yea he does. He used to live up the street from me. The neighborhood kids weren't too happy about that.

But yea, I mean Kasay seems like a really good guy but you can't kick it out of bounds in the Super Bowl.

The Pats could have and probably would have driven down the field even if they were pinned on the 20. There has been no better team under pressure that I can ever recall watching.

Kasay is also listed under the thread The kickers responsible for nailing 8 game winning field goals in one season and helping to lead his team to the Super Bowl

^you can thank the special teams coach....he makes all our kickers good...we are about to loose Baker...

it doesnt matter what Kasey did during the regular season....he lost the SB...just like Bettis would of forever been remembered for the fumble had the Steelers lost.

In my opinion, a kicker is never responsible for a loss unless he plays all the offensive and defensive positions. A game should never come down to just a kick, and if it does, that is not the kicker's fault.

i remember when shayne graham missed like a 21-yard field goal at the horn and the cats lost at home to green bay 21-19 or something like that

the charlotte observer had a contest the following week to see if readers could kick a 21-yard field goal

This is the NFL. The teams have roughly equal talent and coaching. Games will be close and special teams will definitely make a difference.

A good percentage of NFL wins comes from teams trading back and forth for 90% of the game, with one getting the ball last and driving for a game winning FG. With parity, you can't simply say that it shouldnt come down to a FG

None of this makes kicking the ball out of bounds and giving it to them on the fucking 40 yard line acceptable. They only had to go 20-30 yrds to get a resonable kick.

Norwood had also never kicked a field goal (let alone made) from 49 yards on grass in his entire professional career. They were asking for the absolute improbable... no one should have been surprised.

I appreciate this thread. As a soccer player, I appreciate a kicker's roll in a football game/season. Even if it's in reference to bashing, still nice to see them talked about.
