I've got this Spyaxe crap on my computer. If anyone has had this on theirs, how did you get rid of it?

have you tried to get rid of this thing? when i had it it wouldn't let me open internet explorer and whenever you restart your computer it automatically installs itself again... its more of a bitch than you would think

run hijack this

fix specific registry

restart; open windows in safe mode.

run adaware or whatever spyware program you have.

run smitrem

I think I had this thing and just did a system restore to get rid of it...

Hasn't come back at all...

it's best to use Hijack This, then scan with a trial version of eWido, followed by an internet scan using Panda. I'll look for the detailed instructions I followed to remove it.

yes, this is an entry made by a spyware removal team (2nd post). It lists the instructions I used to clean off Spyaxe. They are very detailed, but it works! Also, the instructions assume you have already run Hijack This, so it's a good idea to do that first. And save all log files when you finish in case you need an expert to help you further!
