This is hilarious, and interestingly enough.... most of my posts are similar.

right down to the general dislike of college football, the stupidity of the final tiemout, and the ridiculous decision not to give Reggie Bush the ball at the end of the game...

i dont understand why it was so ridiculous to not give reggie the ball when LenDale was a fucking beast in conversions

putting the ball in his hands was the best bet, did you not watch this game?

^ i agree. LenDale was 100% better than Reggie in that game, its all a matter of whats going to potentially win the game, not who has the trophy.

What USC should have done is about a year ago designed 3-4 plays where they have both Bush and White line up in the backfield just for situations like this.

The collective "oh fuck" from the Texas sideline would've been audible for miles.

this dude is pretty much an idiot and admitted he didnt know anything about college football early on in the thing. bush is not a short yardage back and they went with what had been working against a tired texas d.

in hindsight they shouldve ran a pass play

eh...i'm torn on that 4th down play.

I personally just can't remember Reggie Bush being stopped at the line of scrimmage this whole year (I'm sure I've seen it happened before, and I think it might have happened once during the game, I just don't remember seeing it). He is just too fast and quick and I think there is like a 1 in a 100 chance that he's going to get stopped short of the first down in that situation. Give him the ball, let him bounce it outside and just outrun everybody.

Then again, White is a beast and he should have gotten the first down. But you know Texas is seeing that play coming and they are going to stack the line. I would have gone with Bush, but you can't blame Carroll too much for going with White.

I dont get at the end why they didnt do a quick out for just about 8 yards and try the kick... sure it was a long one but it was doable. Texas' corners werent pressing that tight there would have been no way for them to close fast enough on a quick out as long as Leinart gunned it in there.

you give the ball to Bush no one is stopping him Im sorry.

If he DOES get stopped you say, well we ran our best player at them and they stopped him, so they were the better team.

You don't run a big guy who clearly doesnt have the speed, body balance, or elusiveness of Reggie Bush.

If htey run Reggie Bush there, USC wins the game and Vince Young is remembered as a great QB rather than a legendary one.

he said he didn't watch that many college football games, thus the reason for that comment

Bill Simmons is the man though.

reggie bush was stopped alot behind the line lastnight and while trying to hit the outside. like you guys said texas was playing run. there is no way in hell reggie bush couldve broken a tackle in a shortyardage situation. they had been domiating texas upfront all day and lendale was getting short yardage with ease and had 2 untouched tds up the middle and a few plays where he broke tackles. also texas was tired/injured up front. the only reason this was not a good call is because of the predictableness. BUT RUNNING BUSH WAS OUT OF THE QUESTION. usc knows the capability of thier players.

the smarter thing wouldve been to have bush in the game and run a play action or some kind of pass play.
