I saw Atlantis and BSG... Atlantis was terrible. Probably the worst Atlantis episode ever. I'm currently getting the new SG-1.

But, BSG was very good.

When I said it was the "worst Atlantis episode ever" i actually meant episode 16 which hasn't been shown on Sci-Fi yet. It's a bad one.

I don't recall ep. 11 of Atlantis, but I don't have any particularly strong memories, so it couldn't have been too bad.

The SG-1 episodes are getting too BS-y.

I haven't been watching these shows anyway (the SG shows) since don't have cable ( I guess if I really wanted to, I could download the torrents).

Anyhow, what is it about these shows that are making them so "bad," or just causing them to get lower ratings? Bad writing, cheesy acting, too much suspense of disbelief, what?

Sure I'd want them to bring something better and replace atlantis espescially, but if it's a choice between stargate and stuff like tremors and lexx... I'll take stargate. It would be nice if they'd replace them with something along the lines of farscape or firefly in terms of quality scifi, but yeah... I doubt that'll happen with USA owning scifi.

all of the above. also, they are very stale. sg1 is on its 9th season, and atlantis is just rehashing sg1 plots.

In general, scifi show ratings have gone down because of other forms of entertainment and more channels. Back in the day, TNG used to get 10 million viewers.

well, the acting has gone downhill a bit on SG-1, not so much on atlantis. Rodney is getting on my fucking nerves, and they need to show more of that lt that was stuck in his head. she is fucking HOT.

i'd also say that the scripts are not as good either, as witnessed by atlantis's fucking musical montage where they ran through and just cleaned erreything up without saying a damned thing. It didn't help that we had a death of someone we had never seen before and yet we were supposed to care?

BSG wont have more than 4 seasons. It will start winning awards, payroll will increase, and it wont be worth it. The sci fi timeslot is a killer, too. Sci fi in general is a killer.

When is this show going to get cancelled? I needs to be cancelled right now. Are atlantis fans not at all disturbed by the huge plot holes, crappy acting, crappy writing, and annoying as fuck characters?

I like how mankind's most important facility has less security than a walmart. It's sad that the writers can't come up with plots that don't require abject stupidity on the part of the characters.

This sounds almost exactly identical to complaints about the previous couple of Star Trek series. Perhaps some of the same writers moved to SG Atlantis?
