in neither of these problems i have no clue where to begin.. any ideas will be greatly appriciated

8) Identical isolated conducting spheres 1 and 2 have equal charges and are separated by a distance that is large compared with their diameters (Figure 21-21a). The electrostatic force acting on sphere 2 due to sphere 1 is F. Suppose now that a third identical sphere 3, having an insulating handle and initially neutral, is touched first to sphere 1 (Figure 21-21b), then to sphere 2 (Figure 21-21c), and finally removed (Figure 21-21d). What is the ratio F'/F?

9) In Figure 21-22, four particles form a square. The charges are q1 = q4 = Q and q2 = q3 = q. What is Q/q if the net electrostatic force on particles 1 and 3 is zero?

hopefully somebody out there has a clue about these two, because i know i sure don't

I agree, your doing the easiest stuff right now. This is definetly a class thats easier done in the classroom. Prof. puts an example on the board and for some reason it looks exactly like the webassign...then for some reason, the webassigns look similar to the exams. I failed the final and still got a B+, take an classroom section, get rid of the online one.
